Affinity being bought by Adobe??

There's a report in the San Jose Mercury that Serif (ie. Affinity) is being bought by Adobe. This is awful. They'll almost certainly change payment into a subscription model.

It would have been nice to have had a silent chuckle at some of the inevitable responses for at least a few hours.

I first read about the work of Dr. Lirpa in the 1970's in Byte magazine, back when it was widely considered the leading publication for all things computer related.

But strangely, these days his work is usually only mentioned around this time, once a year. I wonder why that is?

The report is incorrect. Serif will not be bought by Adobe. Thus, Adobe will remain a sans Serif corporation.

Very easy prey, or so I’m told. They apparently have two legs, one of which is much shorter than the other, so they tend to have great difficulty doing anything other than walk around in tight circles.
