That's great for Photo (and thank you for all the time and effort which went into your post); but what about videos for Designer???

The Affinity page for AD videos leaves a lot of wanting:  https://vimeo.com/channels/affinitydesigner

This thread is for Photo. The Designer videos are described and discussed in Official Affinity Designer Video Tutorials (70+). There are not as many (perhaps 94 or so at the moment vs 200+ for Photo), but if you have questions or comments they really belong in that other thread, in my opinion.

Hello All,

OK, I'm almost embarrassed to ask this - but have any tutorials been updated to reflect the differences in the newest (1.6.7) version of Affinity Photo? I'm a complete newbie to photo editing, and the Affinity app. And I must admit i'm getting a bit older and Not quite as mentally nimble as I once was. There seem to be enough differences in the new version of Affinity vs. the version used for the photos that I'm struggling to do even simple tasks. Thanks for any help you can provide!

Please do not be embarrassed, I am in the same boat. I find it very difficult to get a Beginning Tutorial that moves into the next very basic start. The people seem to be experts without a real consideration that some of us, speaking for myself, need fundamental, crawl, walk run progression. Maybe this program has super cool tools, but it is lacking in getting beginners on the playing field. Unfortunately, I am still reverting to Aperture. Wish the powers that be would consider those of us just starting.

Great tutorials!

Can you please create more for astrophotography and milky way processing?

Loved the pin sharp stars tutorial.

Thanks.

Hey all, just a small update. I've gone back and revised a couple of videos (one has had a name change!).

They are:

The wide colour profiles video was previously called "ProPhoto vs sRGB". It's been updated with better information and also to highlight that Affinity Photo ships with a profile called "ROMM RGB" (ProPhoto, basically) that you can use--so there's no need to source and download a ProPhoto profile separately.

Great, if you also want to post a new thread in this forum with your existing tutorials and then add a post to that thread when you make a new one then anyone who likes them can follow that thread. You could also make a new thread about each new tutorial (that is what this forum is for)

Very Newbie here, but find the group very open and encouraging of participation. Just sent you what I feel is needed, and lacking, for me, a basic How to Start series..

Cheers

Do you also have the exercise media for it?

By the way, nice list. Thanks

P.S.: Maybe you could post some of these tutorials on other platforms as well. Would be easier to search.

Do you intend to produce a tutorial for processing Infrared, using a 720nm filter. I have tried to follow the tutorials of other manufacturers  but they don't all translate across easily?

To all that scan slides the following website  https://www.scantips.com/color.html  was very helpful in describing how to correct color shifts which seem to occur as certain slides age. Ektachrome didn't fare too well but Kodachrome and surprisingly Anscochrome have held up fairly well even when 50 to 70 years old.

Hope this helps.

I've just come back to this thread after nearly two years.:o

Looks like I've got a good bit of downloading to do again.

At least the new tutorials keep me in line with the new updates.

Keep em coming James.:27_sunglasses:

Hello Affinity Photo:

I'm a Chinese audience of your video. Because Vimeo and YouTube is walled by the Great Website Wall of China, people in China can't watch the video from these. It's the worst thing that we can't have such great video, your video also can't spread widely. So can I transport these video from your YouTube library to Bilibili.com or Youku.com? Bilibili.com and Youku.com are Chinese video websites like YouTube, lots of Chinese watch video on it. I promise that I will Non-commercial use it and add original link to the video introduce. More important, the best thing is that you allow me to translate these video to Chinese. If I can't translate, it doesn't matter. I'm looking forward to your reply.

It's the summary.

1. Transport Range: All the video from Affinity Photo YouTube Video Library - which in the #1 post in this topic

2. Promise that I will Non-commercial use it and add original link to the video introduce.

3. (Optional) Allow me to translate it.

4. Contact Me: contact@acbetter.com

Waiting for your reply and thx!

I like many other photographers are very unhappy with Adobe's move to a subscription based business model and your product appears to be a reasonable alternative. I can't claim to be an expert Photoshop user but one of the most important operations in PS for me, is the ability to open a number of images as layers and then using masks combine various parts of the images to create a final composite image particularly for product and food photography.

Now I've not been able to find a work flow in your program that enables to perform this operation. If it does exist it is well hidden, if it doesn't exist will you be adding such a feature  and when? As I say I have no desire to go to Abode, however, if you don't have any plans for I shall have to bite the bullet.

Hi testyfly,
Welcome to Affinity Forums :)
There's no specific command to open multiple images as layers but you can easily do that by simply dragging multiple files from a Finder or Windows Explorer window  to an opened document in Affinity. All files will be added as layers.

Going through the tutorials it seems there's nothing specific to the many ways to white balance an image. While there are tutorials on aspects of color, it would be great to have a tutorial on white balance specifically, It might include photos that have white objects as well as those that don't and require the use of flesh tones or maybe "memory" colors.
