Können wir eins bekommen? So von CorelDRAW ... Danke!

ScreenHunter 93.png

Libre Office Draw has been able to do it for a long time.
It was only a matter of time before Affinity had it too!:)

Find the function Super helpful!

Serif generally does not comment on Feature Requests. When there is progress, and they are getting ready to release something, they may comment then. Or it may just show up in a Beta release some day.

Until then, best to assume it is not available, and unlikely to arrive soon.

Hello?

This is all you have for now:

  • "The user interface is supposed to work for me - I am not supposed to work for the user interface."
  • Computer-, operating system- and software agnostic; I am a result oriented professional. Look for a fanboy somewhere else.
  • “When a wise man points at the moon the imbecile examines the finger.” ― Confucius
  • Not an Affinity user og forum user anymore. The software continued to disappoint and not deliver.

I have proposed Designer to be renamed as GodotDraw.

Hehe

You will be waiting forever for that change to happen as well! 🙂

Fortunately, it's part of the Team's Roadmap for the 1.X cycle.

Best regards!

It was. As I understand it, there is no more public road map.

add less important functions, ignoring the most important ones

Less important to who?

Most important to who?

Different users have different priorities.  The most important thing to you might be useless to others and vice versa.

Also, sometimes the "most important" functions will rely on other functionality to be built before it can, and those "less important" functions just might be implemented directly from the building blocks that are being constructed to produce the "most important" ones.  In other words, the "less important" functions just might be essential to creating the "most important" functions in a manner that Serif believes is consistent with their objectives for the program.

This is a basic thing. It's like having an office but not being able to make the text Bold. I have tried many vector editors and all have the ability to blend. Would everyone do it if it wasn't necessary?

No, I would peg it as more of an intermediate-level feature.

Far from being overly advanced/complex, but not nearly as basic/fundamental as you are suggesting.

That's like saying multiplication is intermediate-level feature.

Multiplication can at least be achieved by repeated addition! In a similar vein, the ‘power duplicate’ feature isn’t strictly necessary since we could (very tediously) achieve the same end result through a series of manual steps. By contrast, a Blend Tool is indispensable for dealing with all but the most trivial cases of morphing between different shapes as shown in the original post.

Yes, but is morphing between shapes a common requirement across the numerous possible use cases for the product?

How often does a logo designer need this?

A UI Designer?

etc...

I remember very well when these - and several other - features were about to be added in CorelDRAW and Illustrator back in the day. Logo designers, digital artists, illustrators, designers and UI designers cried out "But we will never NEED these features nor will we never use them! Ever!"

And Corel and Adobe shouted back:

"BUT WE WILL ADD THEM NONETHELESS AT GREAT EXPENSE AND INCONVENIENCE!!!"

And that is how these never, ever used features came to life.
