The day time version was given that old time look.  The old truck was added to the photo.  Using Texture in the lighting control produced that grainy look.

With the night version I added a picture of the Milky Way (I took) (sky replacement) and I created the look of headlights for the truck....

Go to the Layers panel and click on the upper layer to select it. Now click on the ‘Blend Ranges’ gearwheel at the top of the panel to display the Blend Options dialog.
At the top of the Source Layer Ranges graph you’ll see a line joining a black node on the left to a white node on the right. It’s at the top of the graph because everything is at 100% opacity, but if you drag the right-hand end all the way down you’ll make the white pixels in your image 0% opaque (i.e. 100% transparent). At this point the black pixels will still be 100% opaque but everything else will be semitransparent; to restore full opacity to all the non-white pixels, drag the left-hand end of the line straight across towards the right, stopping when the white pixels begin to reappear.

    Good morning, John.
Publisher doesn’t have anything quite like the PagePlus features for editing and saving data files within the program. You need to create and edit them externally.

As for label templates, it shouldn’t be difficult to create your own for any size you like.

And @Pšenda I don't think you read the comments so I'm not sure why you are distressed. I get Alfred's point about strictly using the forum tools and there was no demands. Cheers

I totally agree with you - there is no reason to provide images via any links and intermediaries, when the forum has a full service including file size information. Personally, therefore, I do not look at any such links "somewhere".
It also surprises me if someone demands help, and at the same time deliberately complicates and makes this possible help impossible. I don't find it tactical and clever.

    Hi, all.
The name of the rows of glyphs is not very usable in French, because instead of reading the usual name, for example ‘Latin étendu – A’ (Latin extended – A), we read ‘Table des caractères Unicode U+0100 à U+017F’ (Table of Unicode characters U+0100 to U+017F).

I reported this behaviour during beta testing. The workaround is to use the left and right arrow heads to move through the menu options (horizontal scrolling). Using the drop down menu (vertical scrolling doesn’t work properly.

As the person also said in the other post, this isn't about resizing frames. The text is resizing itself when you group frames, or if you overflow text... I havent touched any text frame handles, select text frame, group, all the text reszies itsellf.

Ahhh but I can see where that recipe might have something to do with whats going on. It must be to do with the frames on the original document vs the frames on the new document and so how the bug is interacting between the two...

Here's hoping for a fix, this is infuriating, when I still have about 200 pages to go, and have a 5 chain quick key system set up just to group some objects

I know what to expect from my tool, I know what I bought it for Not for repairing wristwatches.
Thats kind of the point here. I dont understand people checking software out, not being happy with it but for some reason purchasing it anyways and then whining for bloody years about how they dont like it and how they thought its going to be. I would expect it from kid, but for crying out loud - seeing it done by adults... There is free trial - check it. You dont like it - dont buy it. How hard is that? Isnt that what reasonable adult would do? You think its going to be different in the future? Well, then maybe wait and check another trial in the future, how about that crazy idea?
I have lot of personal reasons to despise illustrator. But guess what? I didnt bought license and start writing salty comments on Adobe forums

The whole thread starts with " I seem to have made a mistake of switching to Affinity products a while ago with not enough research." You dont say, Sherlock...
I wish I knew what was the thought process there... "I have a perfectly working pipeline here, but theres another software I know very little about... Lets switch!". Smart.

Also - I am not conspiracy theory lover, but when I see dude who just made himself an account shortly before new version coming out, claiming he has it for "some time" and has 1 whiny comment about "oh, oh, how bad that software is" I wouldn't be surprised if he was working for... some other company that accidentally makes similar products. Not saying that he is, but I wouldn't be surprised.
Because otherwise he is just dude who switched to software that he didnt liked which wouldn't make him a smartest person to put it mildly.

I moved to Affinity Designer the day it was released on PC. Never looked back.

After many years of using Adobe Illustrator I just dumped it to hell where it belongs with its clunkiness, sluggishness, absurdly minimal updates and unreliability. I rather use Affinity Designer that is absolute pleasure to work with, with less features, then have to curse every 10 minutes at the "industry standard". Some people like their little pocket knives with 100 tiny tools - I prefer solid knife with one, reliable blade. I made hundreds of commercial designs for many different products using Affinity Designer for the last 4 years. Labels, cloth designs, surfing boards designs... And for the last 4 years every now and then I read this whiny comments "oh no, how bad AD is, you need to charge more, you need to add function that I saw on some other app, I am so disappointed, blablabla".
Well I am not disappointed. I am extremely happy.
Do I miss some functions? Sure. Can I see space for improvement? Absolutely. In fact after I stop screaming here I will give devs idea for improvement
But I ditched software with 20+ years of development for that young AD because it simply works. Its not laggy mess that crashes at least twice a day like bloody Illustrator that I started literally to hate over the years. "Oh but you cant make something that other software can!". Well, other software couldn't do the most fundamental bloody thing for me - make my work a pleasure. AD did that for me. Same goes for Photoshop and Photo. I cant say much about Publisher because I am not using it save for adding tables   But I still bough it to support devs that made my work day a pleasure once more.
Keep up the good work ladies and gents! Negativity always is just a noise that leads to nowhere. I cant wait for 2.0! I put food on the table for my family for the last 4 years with your software. Using it daily. With pleasure. Thank you for that and lets keep it going, shall we?

I’m not a Mac user, so I don’t have Time Machine, but I’m afraid my previous post was simply not well worded! All I meant was that the Affinity Store offers downloads of older versions but the MAS and the MS Store don’t.

It’s difficult to “hold off” if you’ve already updated! There’s no way to revert to 1.8 if you’re using the Mac App Store version or the Microsoft Store version, but if you have the Affinity Store version you can easily go back to 1.8 or 1.7 (or even 1.6 if you really want to):

Both of the fonts are OpenType. Both have the same OpenType features.
Just that the .otf font has glyphs with PostScript outlines, or curves.
And that the .ttf font has glyphs with TrueType outlines, or curves.
When writing docs about fonts I now use OpenType-PS and OpenType-TT to make that more clear.
Been poking around inside the font to see if there is anything which would explain your uppercase issue.
The uppercase is not missing in your image above, it has just had the glyphs replaced with the lowercase.
Or, in other words, the code points are there, but the glyphs are wrong.
But because I have found nothing inside the fonts to explain that, and it works fine for me and others,
most likely this is an issue with the font on your machine. Duplicate install issue, font cache issue, etc. ???
Un-installing the OTF and re-installing the TTF may update the caches, etc. and at least get you working again

Can you provide a sample of this PDF? And the APub file too if possible.
I may be able to modify the font so that does not happen.
If you have been copying/pasting from the "guide" PDF then that may be part of the problem.
I have already added some OpenType features which will make working with this font easier.
    Stylistic sets 01 and 02
Much of what was needed was already there, but the majority of the glyphs had names which prevented this in an automatic way.
So I renamed them and auto-generated the features.
    Access All Alternates
This is pretty easy when everything is named properly.
Which brings us to the "Swishes."
Was looking at the best way to add these in an OpenType feature when I saw your comment above about "jumble of characters."
And, I would like to make sure I add this feature in a way which works for you in APub.
So please provide the requested PDF and APub doc and we can figure this out.
EDIT: Never-mind, it all appears to be working fine in APub. Meaning PDF export works as expected.
