paulstar08 Posted July 12, 2018 Posted July 12, 2018 Love this app on the iPad! Great job! I have spent some time with this app today...all day :) and there is something I would love to see added to the app. Rulers. Rulers are always a crucial part of my workflow and I know it is for other designers out there. I really like this app and still digging into the ins and out of it. Thanks for finally creating a very powerful vector app for the iPad thanks works amazingly. scamper, Markio, adpdl and 9 others 11 1 Quote
scamper Posted July 13, 2018 Posted July 13, 2018 Came here to say this. It’s odd because rulers are mentioned (just once) in the documentation. But if there’s a way to actually access the rulers, it’s too subtle for me! Quote

There are a few other 'anomalies' that you will come across. Rulers will hopefully make it to the next release, along with import palettes etc. scamper, iuli and Paul61 3 Quote M1 IPad Air 10.9/256GB lpadOS 17.1.1 Apple Pencil (2nd gen). VectorCat Posted August 24, 2018 Posted August 24, 2018 DM1; Thank you..”not yet available” is far better than the chilly unknowne. Thanks for the guides info! Quote
VectorCat Posted August 24, 2018 Posted August 24, 2018 when rulers arrive, might the user be able to set where the zero point is..in the case where you need the origin to be other than the top left corner of the document or art board? thank you Pink Tree Portfolio, SandMagic, Dodgeruk and 4 others 6 1 Quote

greasy Posted May 16, 2019 Posted May 16, 2019 bumping this thread to say that I just bought the software this week and would love rulers. I am using the software to layout templates for leatherworking components, and accurate measurability for alignment is important. (i also noticed millimeters is not an option for sizing units, but that's another request) VectorCat 1 Quote
guitartech Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 Rulers on iPad Designer are the one thing keeping me from switching completely over from Illustrator on the Mac. Hopefully coming soon... Quote
Bryce Posted August 31, 2019 Posted August 31, 2019 I have to agree. Rulers are very important for a program that does design. I have found that I can use Designer on the go when I am working with clients and having rulers is extremely important. The on the go is new, but I found it works pretty well. Quote

Maoilíosa Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 I found this forum while searching for "how to show rulers in Affinity for iPad." I thought I just wasn't finding the correct place to turn it on in the app. It would be a very useful feature to have. Pink Tree Portfolio 1 Quote

dysamoria Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 Wasn't the whole point of these apps that they were 100% the same functionality between platforms? I swear I just read this very claim on the Affinity pages marketing these products... iuli, Mark Freeman and Massi 3 Quote • iMac 12,2, 16GB RAM, with Mac OS 10.13.6 (17G14033), Wacom Intuos3 9x12 • iPad Pro 12.9" 1st gen & Apple Pencil http://dysamoria.com
