Staff Patrick Connor Posted December 15, 2020 Staff Share Posted December 15, 2020 Please can users of this beta look at the My Account feature (top right of the main toolbar) even if you have already done so recently in another recent beta. We have now added the ability to link your Affinity app to your Affinity account through a new app registration process. This will have the advantages of you being able to stream any content you have purchased (or received for free from the Affinity store) directly to all your apps without having to manually install them. This is of particular use to customers who have more than one of our apps, or run our apps on different devices and operating systems as all your content will automatically be available across all of them. If you register the beta app you will initially receive a free brush kit (the luminance brush kit) for testing purposes. This might be a kit you already have, but if you don’t you will get it for free. Over the next few weeks this will be expanded to include all of the store content you may already own. There have been lots of behind the scene improvements and more of the purchasable and (historical) free claimable content is being added. PLEASE report anything you find using "My Account" IN THAT THREAD Ken Cope 1 Patrick Connor Serif Europe Ltd Latest V2 releases on each platform Help make our apps better by joining our beta program! Tourmaline
No problem here with the new place tool. It looked different to the old one. I registered my product and downloaded two brushpacks but I can't seem to find them in the brush menu.... Never mind, found them in the Affinity Photo brush menu. Staff Patrick Connor Posted December 17, 2020 Staff Share Posted December 17, 2020 15 minutes ago, TimsO said: Can i retain my current version while checking out the beta version? Yes, the beta will install as a separate application - alongside your store version. They will not interfere with each other at all and you can continue to use the store version for critical work without worry. This beta is significantly different from the 1.8.x version available for purchase - we strongly recommend that you do not use this beta for real work as data could be lost and the files you save are not guaranteed to open in previous / future versions of Affinity Designer. Wosven
Testing on another computer did it, and I had the panel. I won't reset my prefs since I don't need this, I find more usefull to drop images in picture frames from different folders opened from different locations. lxx
I posted awhile ago about an issue with the node tool introduced in 1.8.4, and as of this latest beta, the issue is still there for me. (The issue is that clicking a node and then clicking to drag it is now recognised as a 'doubleclick' that does nothing. Video in the thread.) We're multiple versions later now, so I'm wondering if this is something that's planned to be fixed in the future, or if it only affects a few people, or whatever. I'm honestly surprised I couldn't find anything about it, because it's made all versions beyond 1.8.3 completely unusable for me, which is a huge shame. chessboard
There's a bug in Windows version with zoomimg out via SPACE-ALT-Keys with active pen tool or brush tool. This issue exists since some versions ago and is still in this beta. When using the pen or the brush tool it's not possible to zoom out by pressing SPACE+ALT. Zomming in by pressing SPACE+CTRL works fine.

Hi Umiama, I've just responded in your initial post, but this was something I had passed on to development, but I must have got sidetracked and forgot to reply to your post. Please accept my apologies, but I assure you its with development, and also thank you for taking the time to report this issue to us. affinityfan
