Nik 6.1 update fixes problems with Affinity 2.1.
I've tried it with ColorEfex, Viveza and Silver Efex. All work perfectly with Affinity Photo 2.1
Feel free to upgrade folks! 🙂

    Hi,
when I open an image box, I have four possibilities how the image behaves in this image box. That's very good so far!
But I don't have the possibility to adjust the image box automatically to the proportions of the image. If I choose "scale to min fit" or "None", I can manually adjust the frame to the image, but this is annoying, and my hand is usually not calm enough to see a very narrow border again and again. An automatism would be great!
    Thanks and br

There can be a few reasons but first check that Protect Alpha in the context toolbar for the brush is not on
If not that, please upload a full screen screenshot showing the layers panel, colour panel and the brush selected

    Good Morning,
I would like to tell you briefly about my Tests.
I bought Affinity Photo directly from Serif in addition to the App-Store-Version. At 28,-€ in a special Offer, really no big Deal. After the Reinstallation, all Plugins from Topaz Labs now work directly from Affinity Photo as expected!
Thanks a lot for you Input!
    Have a great Day!
    Cheers

    Hello,
We are pleased to announce the immediate availability of the final build of Affinity Photo 1.9.0 for macOS.
If this is your first time using a customer beta of an Affinity app, it’s worth noting that the beta will install as a separate app - alongside your store version. They will not interfere with each other at all and you can continue to use the store version for critical work without worry.
This beta is significantly different from the 1.8 version available for purchase - we strongly recommend that you do not use this beta for real work as data could be lost and the files you save are not guaranteed to open in previous / future versions of Affinity Photo.

Thanks again for your continued support!

    Affinity Photo Team

    Changes Since 1.8.6

    - Added a new “Astrophotography Stack” persona.
    - Added “Live Liquify” layers.
    - Added linked layers.
    - Added pattern layers.
    - Added studios presets.
    - Added the “Resource Manager” functionality from Publisher for managing image placement.
    - Added text-on-a-path support.
    - Added “Export Timelapse”.
    - Added ability to create brushes from the current pixel selection with one click.
    - Added a new “Divide” blend mode.
    - Added “Create from centre” for the elliptical marquee tool.
    - Added a benchmarking tool to the help menu. It will only become available when no documents are open.
    - Added an option to allow snapping to the bounds of the pixel selection.
    - Added support for PDF passthrough.
    - Added per-layer antialiasing controls in the advanced blending menu.
    - Added curves adjustment to the tone mapping persona.
    - Added export preview panel (for raster types) - updates live whenever you change an export parameter.
    - Added JPEG-XR 101010 import support (useful for screen captures from Xbox, etc.)
    - Added support for 12bit grayscale TIFF files.
    - Added “Duplicate spare channel” to right click menu.
    - Added native CR3 support to the Serif Labs RAW engine.
    - Added support for Canon EOS R6.
    - Added a registration page to the app - this allows users to login and download owned content from the Affinity store.
    - Improved “Serif Labs” RAW engine.
    - Blend modes now work on “alpha only” layers (masks, adjustments, live filters, etc.).
    - Gradient map adjustments now support global colours.
    - Filter effects now work properly with global colours.
    - You can now single click a spare channel in the Channels panel to edit it like a layer.
    - The Curves adjustment now has numeric field controls for precise positioning.
    - Adjustments no longer auto apply when expending a section of the adjustments panel.
    - More filters now work on masks / adjustments / spare channels (Add Noise, Perlin Noise, etc.).
    - LUT adjustments can be exported directly from the adjustments panel, and batch imported from files.
    - Having a large number of LUT presets will no longer make application startup slow.
    - Assistant options are now available from preferences (so there is no need to open a document to access them).

    Hi MartinHH,
This is a known issue in the Mac App Store version of Affinity Photo. We already submitted a fix/update to the Mac App Store - It should be available shortly (today or tomorrow).
  16. Thanks
MartinHH reacted to MEB in Nik plugins not working anymore
    Hi j3rry,
It's probably related with the app running in a sandboxing environment. All Mac App Store apps are subject to a few "restrictions" to ensure macOS security/stability. Neither the Betas nor the Affinity Store version have to comply with these requirements as they are not distributed through the Mac App Store. I'm sure this will be fixed in an upcoming build. Hold tight.
  17. Thanks
MartinHH reacted to MEB in No Updates for Photo and Designer
    Hi MartinHH,
If you don't have the Check for Updates command in Photo or Designer then you have purchased them through the Mac App Store. You can try go to menu Store > Reload Page in the Updates section to refresh it but they are still spreading around the globe - it's possible they aren't available for you yet. Please wait a few more hours and try again.

    Hi Martin,
I've reproduced it, it took me a bit of time to recreate the file you had in your video, it seems quite specific and was only happening for me when the pages were landscape.
I've logged this, thanks for reporting it.

    Status: Public Beta
    Purpose: Stability and General Testing
Requirements: Mac OS 10.9 or above
    Hi,
We are pleased to announce that Affinity Publisher build 227 is now available as a manual download from the link above. All being well we will put it on auto-update soon. Please note that due to issues reported, previous build 221 was not made available on auto-update.
As this is a beta it is considered to be not suitable for production use. This means that you should not attempt to use it for commercial purposes or for any other activity where you may be adversely affected by the application failing, including the total loss of any documents.
We hope you enjoy the product, and as always, if you've got any problems installing or running up, please don't hesitate to post in this thread.
Any problems actually using this version please make a new topic in this forum and we'll get back to you as soon as we can. Please feel free to leave general suggestions and comments in the Discussion Forum.
Many thanks for your continued feedback.

    Hi,
    A couple of things -
I've added a link to a master page tutorial / video to the announcement post at the top of this thread. Due to a couple of issues reported in build 221 we may skip putting it on auto-update and instead push out another update with fixes in the next couple of days. Thank you for all your help and feedback.
