Staff Patrick Connor Posted June 14 Staff Share Posted June 14 Following the release of version 2.1.0 of the Affinity suite, we have fixed a number of problems that were discovered after it's release. A full list of the fixes are found in this post and we would appreciate you installing this beta build and confirming that this version works as well for you as 2.1.0 but with those issues addressed. We are hoping that no newly introduced bugs are discovered in this 2.1.1 beta and if nothing significant is discovered we are likely to do a full release of 2.1.1 to all customers very soon. Please report any problems you find in this Beta bugs forum 2.1.1.1847 is now available as a beta either as an update from the last beta (2.1.0.1799/1806) or as a full download from the beta entitlement in your account. If you have not already done so please help make our apps better by joining our beta program! NOTE: The 2.1.1.1847 iPad betas builds for Designer 2 and Publisher 2 are available in Testflight now and Photo 2 iPad beta 2.1.1.1847 will follow shortly (once Apple wake up in the US and approve it) Thanks Patrick lepr, Frozen Death Knight, laurent32 and 7 others 8 2 Quote Patrick Connor Serif Europe Ltd Latest V2 releases on each platform Help make our apps better by joining our beta program! No, Cross References have been withdrawn until 2.2, sorry. In the same way as Cross References were removed for the last few 2.1.0 Release candidate builds, they are not included in this release, which is solely focussing on bug fixing issues introduced in 2.1.0. Panchdara
Are previous beta 2.1.0.x beta participants expected to re-enroll in this 2.1.1.x program? Edit: 2.1.0.1799 did not prompt for update to 2.1.1.1847 until I checked for updates. Patrick Connor

Do you usually run the beta, or the release version? The automatic check happens only once per day. You are right, you cannot do that easily. Once 2.2.0 is in beta we are unlikely to do further customer betas of 2.1.x, but if we need to release a 2.1.2 patch (for example) we will likely test it only internally or in a small private beta group who agree to uninstall 2.2.0 beta first Quote Patrick Connor Serif Europe Ltd Latest V2 releases on each platform Help make our apps better by joining our beta program! laurent32
Concerning the beta versions (that I wish to try), if we have a problem with a file, can we still use the previous officially released version ? Right now I'm on 2.0.4, I'm hesitating to go for 2.1 (because of launch time…) but I'd like to do it and even go for the 2.1 beta and even more for the 2.2 beta in the future… Well, if I open my file in the 2.1 or 2.1 beta or 2.2 beta and if I encounter a problem a little later, AFTER having already "re-saved" the file in those version, will I still be able to open my file in 2.0.4 ? I think not… but could I have your confirmation ? I'm always "scared" to go for the next version but I'd really would go for it, even for the beta versions… !!! I wanted to add, I went to real production last month (for the first time) and everything was a success, so THANKS AFFINITY, YOU'RE REALLY DOING A FANTASTIC JOB !!! i definitely quit Adobe and QuarkXpress… too expensive and not always that good ! Neither 2.0 nor 2.1 should be able to open files saved by 2.2 (beta or release), if 2.2 operates as expected based on the version numbering. That second number (the part after the first dot) is part of the compatibility indicator for the file formats. 2.1.0 would be able to open files saved by the 2.1.1 beta or release applications, because the numbers before the second dot are the same. laurent32 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. iPad: iPad Pro M1, 12.9": iPadOS 17.1.2, Apple Pencil 2, Magic Keyboard Mac: 2023 M2 MacBook Air 15", 16GB memory, macOS Sonoma 14.1.
