HVDB Photography reacted to Chris B in Cropping Issue
Hey Panamarts,
I believe I may have figured out the cause from another thread...
Make sure 'Force pixel alignment' is enabled in the Photo Persona (and possible snapping) and then crop. It looks like we're seeing decimals when adjusting/moving a crop. I believe the Develop Persona should always use whole pixels (it seems to in 1.6). Also, double check that your canvas size is the same as the image size as seen in the Transform panel.
I logged a bug about the decimals in the Develop Persona so we'll see what happens with that.

Yes, in the upper corner under "Develop" it should show 100% (see attachment).
What settings did you use for the detail refinement ?

HVDB Photography reacted to tonyt in Split the forum to app related???
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE split the forum into separate sections for each app. I only use APhoto and have to trawl through reams of posts relating to the other apps to find posts relating to AP. I know the argument is there are lots of similarities between the apps, but after the latest updates there is so much stuff about subjects and functions that simply have no relevance to me. I also use other firms apps where they have several different apps and they are split neatly into app specific sections, so it can’t be hard to do and would make life SO much easier to browse questions relating to AP. I just want to keep up to date and see what other folk are doing, using and problems and solutions to AP related matters.
Thanks...

HVDB Photography got a reaction from ^-^ in Processing infrared images on Affinity
Watched this tutorial ?

HVDB Photography reacted to ^-^ in Processing infrared images on Affinity
shouldnt the sky be almost black & the green leaves white with infrared photography? for example, with konica film stock
ah, ok, that was a color demo
converting to b&w by adding an extra adjustment layer will give the photo an infrared look of b&w film stock
layer>adjustment layer>black&white
red=300%
cyan=0%
blue=140%

HVDB Photography got a reaction from Dan C in Affinity on Desktop Questions (MAC and Windows)
Well, then I would suggest making a change for the "Affinity Support & Question" subsection.
Where, at least, MANDATORY check boxes are displayed for "Start new topic", that indicates the application for which the question or comment is intended.
And then put the choice made in front of the title.
e.g. [APho], [ADes], [APub]
I think that this should be possible and does not require that much effort to realize it ... (I suppose)
Me neither. and I think we're not the only ones.

HVDB Photography reacted to Murfee in Blown highlights in 'Photo Persona'?
Hi CambsCreative, when you open a levels adjustment layer if you hold the option key on a Mac (or I think its alt key on windows) while you adjust the sliders you get to see where any blown areas are in either your highlights when adjusting the white level or shadows when adjusting the black level,

My thanks to everyone who has added to my original post and my apologies for not being able to keep up with the responses.
Thank you @Mark Ingram I have downloaded and installed the beta, which shows a clear improvement in development times both with and without the noise reduction enabled.
Appreciation too for a quick response and your commitment to seeking to resolve the issues reported, big thumbs up for Serif and AP.

HVDB Photography reacted to stokerg in [AP] Issue adding a live gaussian blur adj. layer as a child to a mask layer
Hold off on the video @HVDB Photography, i missed the bit about the Mask in your 1st post
Even with the mask selected, the adjustment goes to the top. I'm not 100% sure on the behaviour in 1.6 but will look into this
