  1. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE split the forum into separate sections for each app. I only use APhoto and have to trawl through reams of posts relating to the other apps to find posts relating to AP. I know the argument is there are lots of similarities between the apps, but after the latest updates there is so much stuff about subjects and functions that simply have no relevance to me. I also use other firms apps where they have several different apps and they are split neatly into app specific sections, so it can’t be hard to do and would make life SO much easier to browse questions relating to AP. I just want to keep up to date and see what other folk are doing, using and problems and solutions to AP related matters. Thanks...
  2. Hi when I add a guide I can just about see it in the image window, wish it was possible to alter colour and thickness!, but I can't see it in the rest of the app window or in the ruler bar so it is mega difficult to lign up exaxctly where required. PSElements is fine for this. Am I doing something wrong or have I missed a setting or selection somewhere? cheers.....
  3. Hi sorry for the delay, been away for the weekend, will respond properly asap cheers....
  4. Hi I am trying to prepare a photo to print as above. The actual available size is more like 9.5” x 7.5”. I want to be able to crop the photo using the rule of thirds, add my own frame image on a separate layer, plus signature, etc.. my starting file is a developed .orf file. I am printing onto A4 paper on a Mac using a Cannon Pixma printer. I want the finished photo to fill the mount size. I have tried everything I can think of and am getting nowhere. As you can probably guess I am a newbie to this so hope someone has the patience to help me. If needed, I can supply more info. I have searched but not found anything, as yet, that will unravel the wool over my eyes! many thanks in anticipation....
  5. Hi I know there are a ton of these already but, my question is this. If I develop a raw file with NO adjustments and then go back to the Develop Persona, the histogram is much better= spread out properly. Why is this and is this now OK, or is the raw histogram ever going to look right? - it should surely to do proper developing, or am I missing something? Thanks...
  6. Hi If I develop a raw file in the develop persona including tonal, black and white points, shadows and highlights and sharpening, etc.. then go to the photo persona. Do you then do more adjustments to the same or should I leave things as they are (newbie!) Also, if I have sharpened in Develop, do I sharpen again for print? Or is it just down to personal choice. Just looking for some general guidelines I guess! Thanks....
  7. Thanks, lets hope so!
  8. Hi many thanks. Imported into ibooks on my ipad, is it searchable? Cant make it work if it is, otherwise thanks for all the hard work that must have been involved. also, does anyone have an answer to the real point, built in help doesn't work for me at all and is a real problem! thanks again.....
  9. Hi I am using latest Affinity Photo 1.6.7 on Mojave latest 10.14.2. When I try to use Affinity Help all I get is a blank screen! Here is my first search for 'Inpainting' for which I get a number of choices. When I click on i'inpainting brush tool' all I get is this blank white screen. It happens all the time and Ican't use any in-app help files. Please can you help me... Cheers....
  10. Hi I am new to all this and am completely confused as to what settings to use both within Affinity Photo and in my Canon print dialogue boxes. Is there some kind soul out there who has a minut , or many, to help me with this? I HAVE searched and read stuff, but everywhere I look the advice seems different! I have calibrated my monitor and am fairly computer savvy, but not when it comes to sorting this out. Cheers PS on a Mac
  11. Hi Lee That well might be the case, but Lyn Browser for Mac has the same problem as does PS Elements. My point is, although I love APhoto, it is REALLY hard to manage lots of AP native file format photos in terms of 'proper' photo management - batch rename, batch scale, tag, keyword etc. I know I could bring in my photos from AP one at a time, work on them and then export them to a format readable by my photo browser. However, if I have several projects on the go at the same time, involving multiple photos in each one, life gets REALLY complicated. If Mac Finder can read the native format but was not built specifically to do so as AP came out AFTER Finder, why can't other browsers? Isn't there a way Affinity could help so that other Browsers can read the native format. I know you are going to say its up to the browser producers to change their software - but that's at least four companies I have to persuade to change, whereas if Affinity could help, that's just ONE! I wonder if the long promised Affinity DAM will read .psd, .dng, tiff, etc? Cheers.....
  12. Hi Eventhough I can see AP thumbnails in Mac finder, I can see NOTHING IN On1 Browse. Can anyone help me? Cheers Tony
  13. Hi I have got a saved brush of my signature which I can size just like any other brush. The signature was done in black. I can't seem to change the colour of the signature. Can anyone help? I often want a white signature to sign a photo that has very dark areas at the bottom of the photo, and black is not a lot of good! Cheers....
