The leading definitely looks bigger in your second screenshot.
You say you are "unable to control [it]". What have you tried?
If you're using Paragraph Styles there's a leading setting in the Paragraph panel:

Or, you might have overridden it using the Character panel:

You might also try Text > Show Special Characters to help verify whether those are lines of a single paragraph or whether each line is its own paragraph, as that will affect spacing.

You are correct, the 3 states are off, inherited form the style it is based on or on. You will find the local versions of these (found on the paragraph panel) only have an on or off. The check boxes with the square in them are also inherited fro the style it is based on
    Cheers

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums
In the Text menu you can currently also insert .txt and .rtf files. You can open or insert .PDF files and we are working towards opening/inserting .docx  and .idml formats.

Perhaps we disagree, I think it is the checkbox equivalent of [No Change] regarding inherited values from a based on style. And I too don't recall seeing a Global checkbox before.... Ahh, Bullets and Numbering in Paragraph Styles.

vonBusing reacted to Dave Harris in Tiered numbering of headings
That is indeed what the Global setting is supposed to do. If it doesn't work, that's a bug. It does rely on all the lists using the same name.

The Now checkbox forces the numbering to be reset to the Start numbering at value for every paragraph that has it set. It's a way to get manual control over when a new list starts. It can be tedious to use with text styles, though; you have to use one style for the first item in a list and different style for the others. The Restart numbering options are to help avoid that:
Any Non List: the numbering restarts after any paragraph that isn't a list. This handles the simple case where all the list items are consecutive with nothing else in between.
Below Current Level: for a multi-level list, the numbering for an inner list will be restarted by a change in the outer list. If you have 1, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 etc. then adding 2 will automatically go to 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 etc.
Manual Only: numbering only restarts if you tick the Now checkbox. It doesn't restart automatically by the above rules.

Videos will come in time. They can't really be produced until the program is written and stable. The beta version is the best version we have; there isn't a more mature version we can give to the documentation team.

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums
Sorry, the Publisher bugs on Windows forum did have a thread pinned on this subject, but not this forum. It does now
When we start the 1.7 Mac and Windows customer betas of Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo these buttons should enable. In the purchased version of Affinity Publisher these buttons will only enable (independently) with a purchased version of Affinity Photo and/or Affinity Designer of 1.7 or above

I am still very confused with margins in Masters I have just created a 3 Masters with three different margins and the document was set up with a 4th Maging setup. But the Margins on the master don't do anything. So A they should be applied when a master is applied or B you should not be ableto set a Margin on Master Slides.
Margins on Masters do not have a linked option.
I personally would prefer Masters to define Margins after the document is setup. I have pages that could have content only on the left or the top allowing for client notes and Margins are a quick way of defining content area
But thank you for doing something about the blue border on pages and masters

Well 001, DEMANDING something is not good towards software devs. Some functions are implemented, some are not, some are on todo list.

Dan - that your wife is software engeneer is good to know. On the other hand, you dont have a clue how things work in SW DEV, as i read your posts.  If you want to pay monthly fee to adobe, its your right and decision. But demanding something in FIRST beta release, well, i think that affinity will not miss your $50. It costs more to pay time for someone to react on your posts, and on coffee spent on healing the nerves...
    Have good day

vonBusing reacted to fde101 in Copy image from PDF to Photoshop is ALWAYS low res?
The screenshot above shows 300dpi but the actual pixel resolution is exactly the same as what mac_heibu reported.
That DPI setting doesn't really mean anything in terms of data being lost - it is just metadata that helps the software determine how big to make it by default when printing it or putting it onto some other document.  Without having checked, APub might be using a default DPI setting from the document or calculating it based on how big the image is on the page vs. the number of pixels...  too many possibilities there, but all of the pixels appear to be present so it isn't really a big deal.
You could do the experiment of making it a different size on the page in publisher to see if the same DPI results when exporting, but otherwise someone from the Affinity team would need to speak to where that is coming from if you really care about that for some reason.

If you paste it into Photoshop you have (or have to create) an image in advance. Pasting now the clipboard content makes this image a PSD, because now it has layers.
If you „unembed" your image from Publisher to your hard disc, you get a .tif. And, by the way, it is shown as a .tif, if you look at it in Publishers’ resource manager.

Holding down the shift key, then hitting the return key usually places a soft return on a Mac.
Soft returns are nice to use whenever a line of text needs to drop, maintaining the overall paragraph styles of the previous lines.

You can customize keyboard shortcuts in the preferences.

You can convert any shape into a picture frame by selecting the shape and using Layer > Convert to Picture Frame. And you can use the clipping option known from Photo and Designer.

The dots in the version number are not for decimals, but a sequential separator. You have to read the version number as an hierarchical sequence of 4 numbers (like an IP number). 128 is greater than 58 and therefore a later sub-version of the 1.7.0 version.
