So it appears they listened to the requests, and everyone just needs to be patient. Or they already were working on that (after all, this is an early beta!) & from the beginning planned on supporting it in one way or another, like maybe with a 'show hidden' button, or maybe even changing this to a dedicated studio panel like some have suggested. GRAFKOM Posted May 2, 2024 Posted May 2, 2024 In Windows 11 in Publisher, the variable font icon in the top bar is moved down by 1 pixel compared to the other font icons, i.e. B, I, U, and the V icon in the button is blurred and darker than the letters B, I, U. Please correct it. And the variable font icon in the Character panel (the letter V) is very small (it does not match the other font icons at all). Please correct that too. Quote

GRAFKOM Posted May 2, 2024 Posted May 2, 2024 In Windows 11, the mouse wheel does not work in Publisher when changing values on the variable font axes. Font changes are not shown in real time. They turn the wheel on the value, the value changes but it is not reflected in the font. When you manually move the slider on the axis, the font changes in real time, but when you turn the wheel on the value - the font does not change anymore. Please correct it. Quote

MikeTO Posted May 3, 2024 Posted May 3, 2024 (edited) The sliders work much nicer in today's beta, now they update the numbers in real time. The revised position of the Font Variations icon in the context toolbar is much better, thanks. [EDIT - I made a mistake] If you open the variations popup for text that is formatted with a hidden axis (because you imported text that was formatted as such, or in this case, formatted it with the previous beta), some of the regular axes disappear. On the left is Roboto Flex Regular and on the right is text formatted with YTLC - the order of three axes is changed while Grade and Slant are missing entirely. I don't love the revised Font Variations icon - the tick marks make it noisy. Is there an option to hide the icon tick marks? 🙂 Edited May 3, 2024 by MikeTO StuartRc and AdamW 2 Quote Download a free PDF manual for Affinity Publisher 2.5 Download a quick reference chart for Affinity's Special Characters Affinity 2.5 for macOS Sequoia 15.3, MacBook Pro (M4 Pro) and iPad Air (M2)
