Ouch, I bought the suite as soon as 2.0 came out but this is a pretty important feature to be missing.

For sure I won't be able to recommend the software to any graphic designer that does most of their work with vector graphics.

Ya let's hope Serif is prioritizing it in their pipeline....🤞

The only thing we know is that it is being worked on since last year and that it will be released this year according to the Canva acquisition page. We're already halfway through the year, so we just have to hope it isn't released on New Years. :d

+1 from a new user trying to come over from Illustrator, so sad to discover yet another crucial feature missing in Designer, similar to the vector pattern fills. Otherwise i really love the app. Oh well... Hope you can implement the blend tool really soon.

On the 4 pledges of Canva when they bought Affinity, this was mentioned on their page :

"In fact, we’re committed to using our shared resources to continue expanding Affinity’s products through further investment in Affinity as a standalone product suite. We’re looking forward to accelerating the rollout of highly requested features such as variable font support, blend and width tools, auto object selection, multi-page spreads, ePub export and much more.

These additions will further cement Affinity as the best-advanced design suite on the market and will be released over the coming year as free updates to V2."

We already have the stoke width tool and the variable font support so maybe the blend tool is the next big tool coming up in the 2.7 (at least I hope so)

However I'm still happy with the 2.6 updates, I just wish we could have seen the blend tool in it.

And also Object Selection and Multi-Page Spreads now, with 2.6 :)

affinity designer and foremost Ash stays a strict disappointment to the users and the supporting people alike

the blend-tool ist not asked for personal amusement, but to maintain a daily job, for which some tools like the blend-function is necessary

but no stress, people are not dumb and can decide to go elsewhere, since also Ash is not fit to inform the clients when and how the blend-tool will be implemented

as of now it seems, that luring people into the software was the only goal without delivering the promises

in other spheres this would be called politics, the only thing a creative business does not need

but keep on your non-communicative style about critical functions, which the software is already capable of, but your policy (whatever that would be, if not earning money) forbids to be honest about your product

history is full of this shit

keep on your game Ash

I wonder what kind of benefit does Affinity take from delaying such a feature for so long... Are you waiting for when you're out of ideas for new releases? Don't worry, the community will always provide further challenges for next releases...

If it could be released as a side plugin, could also be interesting.

For now I'm not upgrading from V1 because I need to see this feature somewhere somehow in Affinity.

If you include the vectorizing bitmap tool (that I get for free from Inkscape), it'd be a big deal for me too

Serif, just get the API and scripting out there already, so that 3rd party developers can start filling in all those missing features ("critical" or otherwise) that you take for ages to implement natively.

"Critical" or not, it's genuinely puzzling that 10 years after its release, Affinity is still lacking a plethora of "classic" vector features which I've been using in Freehand 9 some 25 years ago. O.o

I thought we were talking about a Designer tool, not a Photo tool.

I think that even the other mentioned "Multi-Page Spreads" is not a function typical for ADesigner 🙂

Well, considering this is a "Blend Tool in Designer" thread, maybe those are a bit off topic.

But, anything that keeps this thread near the top of the Feedback forum is good, eh?
