Hi,

I have posted some free 'Nature' brushes for Affinity Photo. I also attached a Word file with step-by-step instructions on how I created my image brushes, also how to install them.

The link to the post (also to the MS Word file, the Affinity Photo brushes file to download and the example brush strokes/brush names files) is below. Just click on it and it will take you there...

I hope you like them. If you use any of them, I'd love to see the work you create.

Enjoy!😃

Thanks, Dan C.

Glad you like them... 😀

I thought that not everyone might be able to afford to buy brushes so I posted some free ones - ones I use myself, also I posted a step-by-step tutorial in MS Word (with screengrabs) on creating an image brush for anyone who wants to learn to create their own. When i started as a graphic designer I used to search for free stuff because I couldn't afford to buy Photoshop AND buy all the extras like KPT Power Tools and all the others.

But now there is Affinity Designer... which is affordable - and brilliant!

Thank you for sharing. I thought these were remarkably innovative and creative.. file a bit large though!:).. but fantastic idea. Good to see brushes experimented with in this way.

Hi @Becoming Jerome,

Unfortunately I'm not sure what you mean by this, as the user has linked to their content above, where you can download the brushes they used to create their (frankly awesome!) artwork.

Are you having trouble downloading, installing or using the brushes?

Earlier today, at least for me, the brushes were not available (they were grayed out and clicking on them showed an error page). Now they’re ok.

Edit, I can see the same errors (on my iPad) if I’m not logged in:

Hi,

I have split the free 'Nature' brushes into two, so the file size is not as large (although it is still quite big); it might make downloading the brushes easier.

Some of the brushes are not 'Nature' brushes, but kind of surreal. Images of all the brushes including the brush names.

I hope you like them. I might post more free Affinity Photo brushes if you guys like them...

There's also a step-by-step Word doc on how I created the 'Butterflies' brush, also the 'Moss' brush...

Thanks, Pruus. So glad you like the brushes. Hope they help you create lots of cool stuff.

I'd like to see what you create with them...

I have also posted some 'Atmosphere, Mist and Fog' brushes too. You can download them below (they're about halfway down the post). I have split them into two because the file size was quite large.

Hi DeIn,

that's an awesome great work you presented here and I hardly can't believe to get all this brushes for free. Thank you very, very much. Download and installation worked perfectly within seconds.

Although I own the Affinity family for around two years, I didn't know very much about the programs, but I'm learning whenever I have time.

I will give you a notice, when I finished an "art work".

Best

Hi! I do have issues downloading the file. If I click on the link it lands on another forum page where people share their work but I can't find the download 🙈

Hi Pšenda,

Sorry, I was out all day yesterday. I myself I have trouble locating my posts (and the free 'Nature' and 'Atmosphere, Mist & Fog' brushes on the Affinity Forum, so I totally understand. The forum is a bit of a nightmare to upload anything in one place or to find anything afterwards. I have many, many other Nature brushes - trees, flowers, fog, shrubs, rocks, etc, but can't upload them because I know I cannot upload them to one location - they'll be scattered amongst the many other posts and lost entirely. If you know of a solution to this, let me know because I'd like to give many other brushes to the Affinity users.

I tried to delete and move the brushes, but was told not to delete my old posts. I would much rather have the links to the free brushes  in one place. It would be so much easier - and so better organised.

Also, today I tried to upload all my free Affinity Photo brushes here, but I received the attached error message when I tried to do this (see below), which is really frustrating. I will try to attach the rest of them in separate posts in this location after my first post. Nightmare!

Hopefully, you can download them all from the links below.

All going well, there will be 4 ZIP files:

DelN's Free Nature Brushes Pt1.zip

DelN's Free Nature Brushes Pt2.zip

DelN's Free Atmosphere, Dust & Smoke Brushes Pt1.zip

DelN's Free Atmosphere, Dust & Smoke Brushes Pt2.zip

In each, there are loads of brushes.

In each of the ZIP files are the Affinity Brush files (.afbrush), also images of the brush strokes and an example image/text I created using them. Download the ZIP files, unzip them, then double-click on the .afbrush file to load the brush files into Affinity Photo.

Hope you like them...

Let me know how you get on...

Honestly, I give up. Just got the same message when I tried to upload the rest of my free Nature and Atmosphere brushes.

It's not worth uploading them here. This forum is too confusing and frustrating when trying to upload anything.

I'll try to locate the original links where I uploaded them originally and link to this post.

I've located all my free Affinity Photo brushes in one place at this below link. Please see if you can download them now.

Apologies.

Sorry to see you're having trouble!

Regular users on the Affinity Forums have an upload limit for all files attached to posts, and your account is currently 52mb from this limit - hence the error message you're seeing.

I've manually updated your account to increase this total file limit now, so you should stop seeing this error.

I hope this helps :)
