  1. Like Affinity, Preview can't print straight CMYK ?!?!?!?!?!? - Acrobat reader does and it's FREE it also retains Vector information on output rather than Affinity's feeble pre-rasterising - I really hope this changes in the future as it's an essential part of many workflows - just mind boggling that great software aimed at design and print professionals can't print a CMYK file to a CMYK rip or printer without first converting to RGB and rasterising then sending to a RIP to be rasterised and printed in CMYK - resulting in a total botched proof
  2. AGGAGGAGGGAGGAGGGAAHHHHHHHHH ...... "we'll see" --- now I'm exited!?!?!
  3. Just uploaded Jon 👍 - the Passthrough test.afpub which I've been testing today, is comprised of 1 page from 4 different PDF's layer up on an A3 sheet. - PDF(for print) works great - all PDF/X formats bomb Publisher as soon as the export screen shows - the only way back is to open a new document which lets me go back to other export formats without bombing
  4. It's all the pdf's I've tried - PDF(for print) works - I only get the problem when using all PDF/x
  5. All the passthrough PDF's I've tried (approx 10), crash my mac when using PDF/X1a:2003, PDF/X3 or PDF/X4. I've only managed to get a results using PDF(for print)
  6. like dcarvalho84 I've only been able to get passthrough to work using PDF (for print) and maybe half of the PDF's I tried to import just bomb publisher - very unstable but its early days -
  7. As PDF/X is a print industry standard I would have thought passthrough would have worked - bombs every time for me
  8. Maybe a low rez preview with passthrough watermark would enable the user to export with a bit more confidence - it would also be useful for a backup plan for when the inevitable deadline takes a dive, simply because of PDFs not passing through, so maybe a quick rasterise in place function???
  9. Tried more tests and doesn't work using PDF/X-1a:2003 so tried PDF/X-4 and just bombs but now can't even get that far as as soon as the export screen comes up it bombs so can't even change the settings - tried making new documents and trying existing documents - as soon as I go to export it bombs
  10. PDF PASSTHROUGH YAAAAAAAY! Unfortunately I can't get it to work, each pdf i've tested shows up as passthrough but theres still font issues
  11. Mac OS Mojave 10.14.6 2.93 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon 48 GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce GT 630 - 2 GB (Metal supported but not metal compute supported)
  12. Just found it - looks like you have to go to: view - customise tools to enable
  13. Select same ----ACE------ potentially save hours - can't seem to find the contour tool? BRILLIANT WORK!
  14. Thats your problem by the sound of it just convert them back to vectors and all should be good
  15. Can you post the file so we can track down the rasterising culprit?
  16. Oh... and all your fonts - just make sure all your raster work is behind the vectors + any FX on vectors will rasterise
  17. Try grouping all your vectors and putting them at the top of the layer stack
  18. All actions: new document, open existing document, open stock image, drag and drop - result in bombing Crashed Thread: 9 Dispatch queue: com.apple.root.utility-qos Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV) Exception Codes: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at 0x0000000000004358 Exception Note: EXC_CORPSE_NOTIFY Termination Signal: Segmentation fault: 11 Termination Reason: Namespace SIGNAL, Code 0xb Terminating Process: exc handler [11151] Full crash log attached: Affinity photo beta 1.9 mac crash log.txt
  19. Great app which I use just about everyday, also does halftone dot and line conversions, great for screen printing and just copy paste your new vectors into Affinity apps
  20. In Affinity apps your colour documents colour profiles need to be exactly the same to preserve colours. The easiest way to keep colour values when copy pasting, means you need to ASSIGN the same profile to the document you want to paste from, to match the designation doc, if you convert (which is the default???) it will mess up the colour values throughout your document, and even converting back will make another mess of the colour values --- ASSIGN is the key to retain values between documents
  21. As this is a much requested "feature" (taken for grated standard) is there any future plans to change the above Serif view?
