In your original topic, Serif was working with you to figure out the issue you described.
If you've given up on that, you can email affinityreturns@serif.com to arrange a refund, assuming you purchased within the past 14 days. (I'm not aware of anything that is 30 days except for the Trial period, before you purchase.)
Please note that both Alfred and I are users, not Serif staff. @StevenS, who first attempted to help you, is a Serif staff member.

    Hi @specworkfan,
I can see that you already have an open ticket with my colleague Steve, however I just wanted to clear up what appears to me a slight misunderstanding. In your message you wrote the following...
We have not actually offered a 40% discount (solely) to existing users. When the V2 apps were launch on November the 9th, we offered a 40% launch offer to early adopters (new and existing users could take advantage). That offer ran until January 25th and is no longer available unfortunately, it was a limited time offer and this is what my colleague referenced when he advised as such and apologised that you had missed the offer. Whilst the response was indeed short, it was polite and there wasn't much more that could have been added.
I've no doubt there will be discounts again in the future as we do from time to time, and to ensure that you do not miss out you could keep an eye on our social media channels. As soon as any discounts go live, you can be certain that we will announce them there first.

If you have an Affinity Store account, you can also update your email preferences from within your account so that we can let you know of any discounts via email.

Unfortunately our apps are not currently available within Russia.
We would not be able to suggest any solutions for this at the current time, sorry.

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums.
First, make sure you're signed-in to the Mac App Store using the same Apple ID you originally used for the purchase. Then click on Store in the Menu, then on Account. You should find everything you've purchased in the past, including the Affinity V1 applications. For a screenshot:

    Hi @Cyranose,
V2 installs as a separate product and does not link with V1 in any way.
There may be a reason that someone might want to keep V1 installed, I cannot think of any myself however.

StevenS reacted to Ash in Claim your free content bundle & our new upgrade offer
    Hi all,
Yesterday marked the end of our ‘40% off V2’ launch offer. With that offer ending I wanted to let you know about a couple of things:
Ongoing upgrade price for the Universal Licence
As I mentioned in my previous announcement (here), offering a specific upgrade price for V1 customers had many complications and is why we decided to run a launch offer in the way we did. However, we listened to the feedback we had around that, and have used this time to implement a method to offer an upgrade price long-term — allowing customers who have not upgraded yet an opportunity to still do so at a better price than a new customer.
All the issues I previously referenced around App Store conflict still exist, so the upgrade offer:
Is only available for purchases of the Universal Licence (offering upgrade pricing on individual apps just is not possible without conflicting with App Store guidelines as each individual app has their own App Store listing) Is only available for purchases made directly from our website (we cannot offer this upgrade discount for people purchasing via an App Store) The ongoing upgrade offer is 25% off the Universal Licence, and also includes a free content bundle (the Creative Collection) worth over £200. To claim this discount, we will validate you own V1 based on whether you previously purchased V1 from us directly, or have registered a V1 App Store purchase to your account. This offer is available from our new upgrade page.
Creative Collection content bundle now available to anyone who has already upgraded from V1 to V2 during the launch offer period
If you already upgraded to V2 during the launch offer period, we also wanted to make sure you could retrospectively claim this new free content bundle.
We have worked hard to make this a valuable gift, and have tried to cover various different use cases of our apps. The bundle includes some high-quality fonts, brushes, LUTs, icon assets and resources and, as mentioned above, is worth over £200. So, if you have already purchased V2 and you previously owned V1, you can claim this content for free as a special thank you for your support (in addition to the 40% discount you would have already received on your V2 purchase during the launch offer).
To claim the Creative Collection, please visit our upgrade page and scroll down towards the bottom where there is a ‘CLAIM NOW’ link under ‘Already upgraded from V1 to V2? You can get the Creative Collection for free below’.
After following the link, you’ll be taken through the validation step of checking your account as being someone who owned V1 and has purchased V2. The way we confirm this is by seeing a V1 purchase tied to your account, whether you purchased it directly from us or you registered an App Store purchase to your Affinity account.
    Claim your free content now
We understand there will be some of you who did purchase V1 from an App Store but may not have ever registered it to your account (and as you probably don’t have V1 installed anymore, no longer have the ability to register it). In that case we will need to try to validate that manually with you. So, please first try getting the Creative Collection using the link above and if that fails, drop us an email with your Affinity ID to affinity@serif.com (subject: “Free Content”) and we will do our best to help. If it’s possible for you to dig out your original App Store receipt for your V1 purchase, it will speed up the process if you include that in your email to us.
Other than that, thanks again for all your continued support. We hope you enjoy your gift!
    Thanks,
    Ash

StevenS reacted to walt.farrell in V2 SUITE
You are always free to upgrade only one or two of the applications.
But if you want to use any of the functions where the applications work together (Photo and Designer Persona in Publisher, or File > Edit in <other application>, or sharing brushes/assets/etc. between the apps) they will need to be at the same level. So, if you stop upgrading some of them, they won't be able to interoperate with the others after that.
Also, there is no backward compatibility of the file formats today. So, if you upgrade to version 2 now, and version 3 comes out in a few years, files saved by version 3 probably won't be usable in version 2. (They might be, but I wouldn't count on Serif deciding to implement that function.)

Thanks. For that one, I think you may need to press Purchase. That helped me once.
There may be some other possibilities via the Account dialog if you Continue Trial.
But I would first suggest reading this FAQ. The first post in it has a link to an article specifically about purchasing/registering/activating the iPad apps. If that doesn't help, the second post in that FAQ has some alternative suggestions.

I have followed the steps and at last it appears all is working.
Apologies for the Frustration but it truly has taken hours.
I pressed the re-purchase link for publisher and now the license is showing in my history on your site before it was not there.
So hopefully I can put all this behind me and get back to using the Software which is all I wanted to do in the first place.
Thank you for sticking with this it actually is appreciated.

StevenS got a reaction from Patrick Connor in Universal License via Apple does not show in my Affinity account (split)
    Hi @Ewart100,
It sounds like there's been an activation attempt in one of the other apps. This has in turn been logged as an unsuccessful registration across all of the apps. We therefore just need to delete this record.
    1.   Go to ~/Library/Group Containers/6LVTQB9699.com.seriflabs/V2/ 2.   Delete the licence.dat and cs.dat files and the Receipts folder 3.   Relaunch the app you purchased the Universal Licence (in your case this is Affinity Publisher) 4.   Try clicking the Restore Purchase link at the bottom   You should see a 'Thank you for your purchase' screen. If you click "Existing Customer? Sign In" and follow the in-app prompts to sign into the Affinity ID you want to register your licence against.   Once that is complete it should appear against your account on this page. From this point you will be able to sign into every other app using the same Affinity ID.   If for whatever reason the Restore Purchase button doesn't work. Click on 'Buy' against the Apps V2 Universal Licence. Please ensure this is the same app and licence you purchased. It should detect that your Mac App Store account has already purchased this and tell you this and restore the purchase. If it is a different one you will get charged again from Apple. When you click the 'Buy' button for the one you've already purchased you should be told by Apple that you have already purchased this and do you wish to restore your purchases. Click 'Yes'. You should then see the 'Thank you for your purchase' screen as mentioned above. If so again follow the in-app prompts to sign into the Affinity ID you want to register your licence against. That should complete successfully and you should have the app listed in your Affinity account using the link above. From this point you will be able to sign into every other app using the same Affinity ID.

StevenS reacted to fde101 in Old V1 users being asked to pay EXACTLY the same for V2 new users? NOT COOL.
Then "everyone" was not paying attention, as Serif told us several times over the years that this would happen, and a handful of forum users who are not even Serif employees even expressed this over several years before the v2 release.
They are not unique in this either, as there is not really a "good" way to handle paid upgrades on the various app stores, and I have seen several apps require that major versions be purchased separately, without offering upgrade pricing.  At the price point of the Affinity suite (even the newer price point) and given the amount of time between major releases (if the v1-v2 gap is even close to indicative) this is hardly anything to complain about.

The Universal Licence includes licences for all our V2 apps on each platform (Mac, Windows, and iPad), and allows you to simultaneously install any of the three apps on as many Mac, Windows and iPad devices as you need for your own use as and when you need them.

Thank you for this - it is very clear and I hope that those who are complaining all read it in order to understand the rationale. I think the vast majority understand the difficulties and that Serif is still a remarkably small outfit. I look forward to the V1 to V2 upgrade 'thank you' bundle. 😀

StevenS reacted to jmwellborn in What is the best way to purchase the V2 Universal Licence?
@monzo  I would definitely suggest that you purchase the Universal App from the Affinity website.   My Photo2, Designer2, and Publisher2 are all performing without a hitch or a glitch.  They came from the Affinity website.  And if you do decide to purchase, be sure to keep your V1 on your Mac until you have installed V2.  That way you can choose the option to Migrate Content from V1.
