Mediafuel reacted to UlrikBrondum in Classic aeroplane in Affinity Designer
My first work in Affinity Designer.
In my search for alternatives to Adobe's Creative Clouds (without monthly payments subscriptions) is Affinity Designer the tool for me to replace Illustrator. The only thing I miss in Affinity Designer, is better print and export opportunities with crop marks and bleed options.

Mediafuel reacted to libelle in Newbie / 1st project
I'm a brand new user, and have been enjoying Affinity Designer.
I haven't yet explored beyond the "Draw" Persona, but in many ways, the program hearkens back to the simplicity and power of the MacDraw / Claris Draw programs, but brought into a more modern world.
I've been playing around with geometric tilings. This design has hundreds if not thousands of curves and filled areas, and I haven't really run into any performance problems (yet).
I'm looking forward to seeing how far I can go with this!

Here you can see my first try of making a low poly portrait
:) I think i chose a pretty difficult person (the big forehead and the glasses) but I think for the first try it is okay. It took about 2 hours without coloring, I hope I can color until tomorrow ^^
How do you like it so far?

Mediafuel reacted to OutlawPete in Poster Design
Hello everybody,
I've created this double bill poster of Laurel & Hardy. This year marks the 125 years anniversary of Stan Laurel's birthday. These two movies are coming to the big screen in England, Scotland and Ireland.
Using my sketch as a guide I created this poster completely in AD. This is my first larger artwork in AD.
The first release of AD was a bit too unstable to me, but much has improved since the update. So, I'm very pleased working with this piece of software.

Mediafuel reacted to affinity4Christ15 in Spongebob-mania...
The first thing I did when I got AD is practice and learn by reproducing some Spongebob Squarepants images from scratch. I dragged and dropped a couple jpg's from wikipedia onto my desktop for reference, and just started drawing and experimenting. I found this to be a good way to learn the software. AD is AWESOME!!! All you SBSP fans out there...Voila!

Hey Folks, this is my first attempt at using affinity designer. I really love drawing in vectors, all my works are 100% (pure) vector illustrations, and now I'm glad I found AD - an awesome tool … think we're getting married ;)

Mediafuel reacted to diane555 in Retro Smoking Woman - WIP
Hi everyone. I am new to Affinity Designer. I really love drawing in flat color vectors at the moment, so this is my first attempt at using AD. I didn't realize there was anything in the help files at first so it's mostly just trial and error. The interface is fairly intuitive but I admit I am having some challenges figuring out how to keep line & fill colors consistent.
I'd love to be able to select a line or shape and simply eye-dropper from an existing one. And I can't seem to figure out how to drag colors into my swatches palette and there are a few things I'd love to see added but I'll look for a suggestion thread here :)
I really love the software already. I hope you like this. Thanks for looking!

Mediafuel reacted to Pedro Soares in Portrait + Affinity Photo
Recently I had a client for a portrait shoot. She is an actress and someone really talented and full of crazy ideas. The resulting images where very good and but I wanna do something different so I played a bit with Affinity Photo and this is the result.

Always good to see the progress and end results, no doubt more work will come from this and then its back to Affinity.

Mediafuel reacted to iKoma in Self-Portrait from Vectors
My girlfriend took a picture of me and I created a vector-based portrait from it. It looks simple but it wasn't for me. I'm still getting used to vectors.

Hi regarding Q1,
Adobe Bridge is for storing, organising and adding metadata to your pictures. ACR (Adobe camera raw) and Lightroom are the applications I think you are referring to. The Develop Persona has similar features to those both, yes. Only in this case you would just head back to the Photo Persona which would be a similar workflow from ACR/Lightroom to Photoshop.

Mediafuel reacted to Deadbyxmas in Affinity illustrations and experiments
Hi all,
as I've been quite taken by various jobs I haven't posted here for a while Besides being invaluable for everyday commissioned jobs (e.g. quickly creating assets to be used in Flash animations), at the time I did a couple of more illustrations in Affinity which I haven't shared yet (I was kind of reminded by the fact that I'm doing a new - slightly more elaborate - one at the moment)
Here you go, back for more soon
