Hi. I was about to post this. That little trash icon was extremly useful and convenient, as you could simply use your left thumb to delete anything in a snap.
    Thanks,

    Friends, Colleagues, Esteemed Strangers,
You may be aware of the exciting world of print-on-demand(POD) art services. If you are, then you know that while they are a great means of making a passive income, properly sizing artwork for each product offered by a platform can be tedious and time-consuming. It is for this reason that I offer the following template. This Affinity template makes use of artboards and symbols to automatically scale your designs to every product offered by the Redbubble website to safe you time and annoyance.
Simply edit the models at the top of the canvas and the template will do the rest! You can also use the export persona to export every product design at once. (Note, the default filepath is "./placeholder_productRenders/PRODUCTNAMEHERE.png" because there is not a way to make a "filename" variable yet in Affinity Designer.

    Sorry; missed that.

It could be, yes, if Serif wants to do that. On the other hand, there are many text functions that are only in Publisher, and one could say the same for all of them. They may be targeting features to encourage use of the different applications for different purposes.
    Grouping handles that, doesn't it?
Or, you could use Publisher, which via StudioLink can do vector and pixel functions, as well as its more advanced text functions, if you own all three applications.
It's fine to ask for functions to be added to different applications, but where does it stop, and where do you end up with one monolithic application?

BobsDaubs reacted to Andy05 in Classic engraving effect (copperplate engraving) for Affinity Photo V. 1.x & 2.x
I had to edit some images for a client, who wanted to embed them into some kind of bank notes. The motives on them used to be classic copperplate engravings. So I created some macros for AP, some of which I want to share with the community.

    Requirements:
The image needs to be square format (it will get resized to 3000 x 3000 px) The image needs to be flat (only 1 layer) The styles provided in this post need to be added prior to starting the macro I got an error message when trying to upload the files (probably due to their size, hence some google cloud links:
    Engraving Styles (2.2 MB) - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1aHP4golVVLoidsw_aLs_EcMltfsM3oIu/view?usp=sharing
    Engraving Macros (1.8 MB) - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1mMbZFTd-fLDuACyRCa7bne7cd0wksYUu/view?usp=sharing
The macros and assets have been moved to Gumroad. (https://thargoran.gumroad.com/l/engraving_effect)
t's still for free—just enter the code APforum2023 (I'd appreciate some stars rating nonetheless).
Sorry, but the free period expired.

Carl’s suggestion of adding rounded rectangles should work well. The tear shape is another possibility.

A rounded rectangle is a quick way to add a drip to the basic design

I reported this behaviour during beta testing. The workaround is to use the left and right arrow heads to move through the menu options (horizontal scrolling). Using the drop down menu (vertical scrolling doesn’t work properly.

I think filling a signature in helps a lot, having "at a glance" details can kill a multitude of investigative questions prior to giving help on the actual question; which can be cryptic at times. It baffles me how many people post their name or email as a post title nullifying most search capabilities later on.
A few subtle hints for making posts.

I wouldn't mind a mandatory tag to specify what application the question is about but separating them in sub-forums seems unnecessary.

An alternate way to achieve this:
    1. Select the objects you want cropped to
    2. Copy the objects (ctrl c)
    3. File > New From Clipboard
Now you have a document cropped to the size of your objects.

Wanted to add my vote for this feature and wishing for a palette export as well. This, together with the Global Colors feature, would really be useful to have on the iPad.

The free beta of VectorStyler is very help in filling the gap where Affinity Designer lacks a Mesh Distortion/Warp/Transform tool.
I was able to create a shape, warp it and then just copy and paste into Designer as an editable vector.

BobsDaubs reacted to Alfred in Photo: where are the trash/magnet/de-select Buttons?
Even in landscape mode on my humble iPad Air 2 (9.7” screen) there’s enough room for three more buttons. I wouldn’t mind a flyout if the available space is thought to be insufficient for separate buttons.
If the user could customize the tools we wouldn’t be having this discussion, of course.

That would be very helpful since people have been asking for this feature since 2018. Every good design software has it (Photoshop, Procreate,...)

    Hi Nandita,
    Welcome to Affinity Forums
There's still no way to import colour palettes in the iOS version (both in Designer and Photo), sorry. I've bumped the report to bring this issue up again to devs attention. Thanks for your support.

I just wanted to bump this. It seems to me this should be high on the list of priority feature (for both AP and AD). Importing swatches is really critical for a lot of us.

Sorry for bumping this, but after an hour of manually putting swatches back into Designer I feel the need to reiterate that missing the ability to import/export swatches is a huge issue; this is an essential feature that should not miss even in the early stages of any graphic software, vector or not. Please bring it to iPad because without it the app (otherwise amazing) is incomplete.

    Kind regards,

The iPad is the future and so is Affinity but i do hope they polish things like this a little bit more. More and more people want to go away from competition but its the small things that make a app great so i hope they iron these bugs out.
