befehr got a reaction from predick in EPS export for microstock submission
Hi MEB, back in the day and if memory serves, I had good luck exporting Xara files to either ai or eps. I also remember export CorelDRAW file to ai with some success. In both cases I believe they were exported as an earlier version of Illustrator, perhaps as early as 7. Would it be possible to have that as a export option in AF, to select an version, like Illy has?

Interesting. I just did a test, exported four different gradients as Postscript levels 2 and 3 and when opening in illustrator and AD all exported as bitmaps.

I've reproduced this and logged it.
    Thanks for reporting it

    Hello befehr,
I also discovered this bug. Publisher is crashing also on my Mac when deleting a toc style.

To avoid pressure on their servers they tend to roll it out over 24 hours.
ALSO In the Mac App Store go to the updates tab and press CMD+R (as this is basically a Safari window and may need refreshing) Mine turned up instantly

Is there anyone here who creates illustrations for stock sites like Getty or Shutterstock and has figured out a way to reliably export a usable EPS version 10 file? I have tried EPS, PDF, and SVG with no luck. It is so unreliable, even using just flat colors (because gradients can really be a problem), that it's often easier just using Illustrator instead.

I know there is this strange thing about Adobe playing nice with others in regard to the allowing of exporting an ai file (if that makes sense) but they seem fine with the export of psd files.

    Thanks

They are testing the betas here in the forum to see how it goes, and when they feel that is stable enough they put them on the auto-update feature!

I think this is correct because you are applying one type of stroke that will be repeated in the next shape you start drawing. I think that is the normal behaviour even in 1.6, but only with stroke.

Question: why are the new beta's not recognised when i use the Check for Updates menu item in the current beta of AD? I prefer that option because it's so much faster than downloading the whole beta file. If it works, of course.
This has happened quite a few times already, so i'm wondering why.

We are aware of this issue and it has already been logged with our developers.
    Thanks,

I feel a cup theme coming on.
All done in Affinity Designer's Draw Persona, lot's of blur fx and transparencies. Ideally, I would have used a' blend tool' or 'blend along path' to created the equaliy spaced and repeating patterns, but AD doesn't have it. Soooo, I had to eyeball everything, and I now have a headache. :-)

Just need to mention that upon further research even an illustrator file would have me do shitloads of work but it'd be a start.... the easiest way is to rasterize and export PSD. For a full workflow, affinity would  need to save a full proper AI file and my animation software would need to get that full, layers and naming included as it does with psd's...

For now, anytime I need to provide a file as an AI (or even a good PDF) , I'll just create the artwork in CorelDRAW because I can't get anything out of Designer, at least not a print-friendly scalable vector. I don't dare think about trying to creating something for a large print job like a banner.
Sadly this means I have to run Win10 on my mac just for CorelDRAW, which is stupid, but you do what you have to do.

hey everyone, i just wanted to say that i use AD for animation assets and without AI export i end up having to brake-down the svgs and rename 300-400 layers. even rudimentary illustrator format exporting would help me too :D

    Ha, right.
I thought I could select the top level of each layer in the stack, then find a function  like “remove all effect”. But no.
What I did was, while keeping the effects window open, I expanded each layer and group, selected objects within each layer/group, then unchecked the applied effects in the effects window.
Still, it a bit time consuming but better than one object at a time.

    @befehr
Same as you, I need to select items, it won't work on layers or groups (but that's better this way).
An option "select all from this group/layer" depending of the selection would be usefull!

    Hi,
You can try this on a copy of your illustration (it's ok when tested on few forms):
Create a form with no effect. Copy the effects (= copy "no effect"). Paste this effect to other items (= no effect), you can select differents form before pasting the "no effect" property.
