  1. Just going to bump this request (again). It kind of bewilders me why so many simple time saving tools are ( still) missing from designer.
  2. I agree it would extremely helpful if i could create custom metadata for export with Affinity designer.
  3. It seems to be a problem with affinity loading 16bit float exrs. When the image is exported after painting it becomes roughly 50% larger , the extra size is padded with black. I'll need to go through my old projects to find an example. the Images are under an NDA so i'd need to give you a private link
  4. Under windows 10 using affinity photo 1.8.3.641 .exr exports from affinity photo are the wrong size and padded with black. As a pro matte painter working in linear colour with affinity would be amazing but it needs to be reliable. My round trip is blackmagic fusion to affinity photo and back to blackmagic fusion. Opening the linear float Exr in affinity and painting is fine. The affinity photo export dialog shows the correct size However on opening the exported image ( in fusion nuke or affinity) it is much larger. The borders of the original image are padded with Extra pixels. The same issue is seen with the mac OS Clearly it's not an issue with Nuke, Fusion or the operating system. since the bug has been seen on different platforms and afftiny also fails to load the image correctly after export.
  5. I have the same bug under windows 10 using affinity photo 1.8.3.641 Exr exports from affinity photo at the wrong size and is padded with black My round trip is blackmagic fusion to affinity photo and back to blackmagic fusion As a pro matte painter working in linear colour with affinity would be amazing but it needs to be reliable Clearly it's not an issue with Nuke, Fusion or the operating system
  6. Yes a nodal (fusion /nuke ) Compositing Persona would be amazing .
  7. please please a preview for straight lines is a must
  8. another vote for tga support
  9. +1 yes please for this feature. seems like an easy win for quick development
  10. it feels to me like the default Affinity pressure sensitivity is way way too soft. Even the lightest pressure produces a really heavy line. I basically have to max out the hardness in my wacom settings . Then max out the hardness in affinity as well with a crazy custom curve. With all this i can finally get a gentle airbrush effect using light pressure on my wacom pen. In photoshop a light pressure on my pen produces a barely visible stroke on the image. It seems crazy that I need to do all this to set it up in AP. It also means all the default AP brushes are way to heavy to use and I basically have to start again. Can i suggest some sort of global setting for dynamic pressure to allow artist to quickly configure AP to taste ?
  11. The problem is that in order to make a skybox the image file need to be converted to a textureCube not a simple texture. UE4 does this automatically on import. Only HDR files are converted to Texture Cubes all other file formats including exr are loaded as simple textures and don’t work as skyboxes. I’ve put a request on the UE4 forum for a new feature but.... If you were able to fix the hdr to UE4 workflow from Affinity that would be great.
  12. Exported HDR images from affinity won't load in UE4. HDR are the only format that UE4 allows you to create skyboxes with so this is a big problem if Affinity is your core package for game development.
  13. ZBrush wins because it dominates the market. It also has the least intuitive interface of any package I know. Consistency and intuitive UI is good for users. Burying the apply button in the hand tool isn’t intuitive, and not something I would of found without trawling through the forum. It wouldn’t do any harm to have the apply button duplicated somewhere more visible. It’s great that affinity is on the iPad, it actually gives me a chance to learn it, and I really like what I see. ..... but if I need a 10min fix for work I’m still reaching for photoshop because I can’t guarantee that I won’t spend 10mins reading help files in affinity.
