For now we are wanting to keep this new move feature consistent between all apps, and obviously Symbols only available in Designer / Designer Persona. We have now added "Create Symbol" to Layer menu in Designer, so easy enough to set up a shortcut for that (e.g. cmd-K) and then you could just hit cmd-K before doing the move / duplicate operation to achieve the same thing.

With some fine adjustments, like adding more settings, this idea could turn out as separate feature maybe exactly like the "Blend Tool" in Illustrator. This would also have to ensure you can control the path of which the duplicates would align AND maybe properties shift among these duplicates, properties like color, opacity, along with the regular transform properties

I'm inclined to believe this is the beginnings of that function being added in (finally).

Hi All - we have just released another build which includes the requested rotation option. We have also added a check box where you can specify if you want the move dialog to remember the last settings or not.

The rotation option is a really great and super useful addition, thanks for adding so quickly...

I wonder whether duplicates should perhaps be auto-grouped in the Layers panel for convenience as the first instinct is to do just that so automatically grouping duplicates or having a preference to determine whether duplicates are or are not auto-grouped would be a great addition and would be especially helpful when making numerous repeats of the same duplication as currently there's no easy way to determine where the first set of duplicates ends and the second begins in the Layers panel...

I noticed that changing the Transform Origin in any way while using this feature throws me out of the pop-up panel. Would be nice if it was possible to change the origin while doing these transforms.

Sliders for horizontal, vertical, distance, angle and rotation, not only for number of copies. This way we can precisely position the object.

When I tried to replicate the rotation of the line as demonstrated by Ash, a problem occured:

When I draw vertical line with the pen tool and click on the move tool after that, transform panel says that it is rotated for -90 degrees. Now, when I click Enter to open Move/Duplicate panel, the line goes horizontally and the rotation is 0 degrees. I tried, also, to deselect the line and reset the rotation angle in transform panel, but it is unavailable.

Bug or not. If not, any help is welcomed.

Isn't this just one more example of a function that requires the keyboard? Many functions in the applications require the use of modifier keys, for example.

I think inevitably as a developer we do have to rely on operating system accessibility features for those with certain disabilities - including voice commands, on screen keyboards (which can be controlled with a mouse or other pointer device) and other accessibility features available.

Unless it's taking its point of reference from the transform panel, i.e. 0° is horizontal, 90° is vertical. When first opening the Move Date Entry dialog its default setting is 0° so if it's designed to be consistent with rotation angles for the apps then technically it's correct...

Likewise, if you start with a horizontal line opening the Move Data Entry dialog with its default setting of 0°, the line remains unrotated, i.e., at 0°...

72 dpi, though on further experimentation my previous statement is incorrect so it shouldn't matter what resolution you use...
