can i shoot on a computer?

Recommended Posts

The only thing I can think of is they mean: take a picture and have it wirelessly appear in AP. Some cameras/phones will upload directly to iCloud for example.

So far as I know, AP does not 'listen' for incoming files.

They are talking about tethered photography, programs like Hasselblad's Phocus etc.

The OP might have this gimmick in mind (which appears to be stuck in its marketing phase)

https://mobygeek.com/features/this-ar-app-can-paste-an-object-from-the-real-world-to-your-computer-screen-14929

ClipDrop is a reality-bending application that allows users to drop real-life objects into a desktop screen, and the AR app is taking the internet by storm, as revealed in a demo tweet posted by developer Cyril Diagne. The app was actually developed before, but it has now come a long way and is more refined.

The concept of this app is to let uses take a photo of a real-life object, automatically remove the background, then convert it into a digital image. Then, users can paste the image on the desktop screen or use it in apps.

Ah the good ald days, when skilled photography relied on knowledge and a smidge of bracketing for the less daring lol!

Won't be long now when you tell the 1,000,000 gigapixel 360º Dronophoto 2000 to go out and take whatever photo you desire then sit back and let the built-in AI whatever app to make it perfect, and make it the 'muriel' on you lounge wall. By the way I'm selling these on Fleabay. :P

The "muriels"  or the Dronophoto 2000s? Asking for a friend.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6
Affinity Designer 2.5.5 | Affinity Photo 2.5.5 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.5 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Hello, Is it possible to shoot directly into the computer using the program?

No, you need to use the native app from your camera vendor for tethered shooting.
As far as i know, all relevant like Canon Nikon Sony Etc offer such tools free of charge, and store the images into a selected folder. You can then just duble-click, or click and drag to Affinity Photo.

Special interest into procedural texture filter, edit alpha channel, RGB/16 and RGB/32 color formats, stacking, finding root causes for misbehaving files, finding creative solutions for unsolvable tasks, finding bugs in Apps.

My posts focus on technical aspects and leave out most of social grease like „maybe“, „in my opinion“, „I might be wrong“ etc. just add copy/paste all these softeners from this signature to make reading more comfortable for you. Otherwise I’m a fine person which respects you and everyone and wants to be respected.

I know on mac Tethertools can help find connectivity for your camera as well as selling hardware and software.

The search by camera can show you compatible cabling and tethering software.

In days of yore I used to use ControlMyNikon, it cost about £25 and was excellent, whether it's still available I don't know
Now I use Olympus cameras and they provide OMCapture free which works well enough for me, not that it gets much use
