I use Lock Children a lot, so this is indeed very handy. I can enjoy the benefits of Lock Children as needed without worrying too much about the state of the checkbox since I can set it to determine default behavior, which is more ideal.

I can save Affinity Photo Gradient Map Preset in Photo. But can't seem to find how to reuse them! Could anyone please help?

Steps to reproduce:
Create a new document Create 3 text objects Lock one of them Deselect all objects Shift select one unlocked text object, then the other, all is well and as expected Without letting go of Shift, try to select the locked text object The app will hang, Affinity Design will start using a lot of CPU time See video below for a visual guide.
Workaround for this bug is... waiting. The app will eventually unfreeze itself, but it might take a while. On a Ryzen 3700x it takes around 3 minutes to become responsive again.
EDIT: The first time you trigger this bug, the app will take the longest to regain responsiveness again. On subsequent triggers the app will still become unresponsive, but recover much faster... 🤔

When I use Designer V2 - it works fine for sometime (may be an hour or so - can't be exact on this) but then it starts slowing down and everything becomes really laggy. For example, the selection of any object, selection of a new tool from the toolbar by click or by keyboard shortcut, selection of a context menu button takes 3-5 sec or more!

The files I am working on are not that heavy, in fact most of them are under 1MB (it uses many gradients and vector brush) but still it lags severely. It seems like the lag is slowly creeping in before becoming noticeable. I reminds me of some earlier version of Designer V1 that had similar lag (which version resolved it I don't remember now) . 

I am using Designer V2 on Windows 10 V 21H2. (19044.2251) and face no such issue with Designer V1.
I have turned off hardware acceleration / Open CL after seeing some other threads on similar (but not exactly same) lag issue - however it hasn't helped. 

Please let me know if there's a solution that I can try or if it's a known bug when it would be fixed.

You might try:
Selecting the Artboards you want in the Layers panel. Remember that the lower artboard will be on an earlier page. On the export dialog, for Area, choose Selection (with or without) background.

I can save Affinity Photo Gradient Map Preset in Photo. But can't seem to find how to reuse them! Could anyone please help?

On Windows the file is in the Affinity application's Settings directory, in RecentFiles.xml. E.g., for the MSIX version of Photo 2: %USERPROFILE%\.affinity\Designer\2.0\Settings\RecentFiles.xml
I've never found it necessary to delete that file, so I can't comment further on @r0b_k's comment.

I think @r0b_k is not correct. There's no such file for Windows machines. I've done a complete search of my entire system, and the MRU.dat file does not exist.

The best method is to uninstall the MSIX version first, which you can do by right clicking on the shortcut for Affinity on your start menu and selecting Uninstall.  Once the MSIX version has been uninstalled, then you can install the MSI versions, which you can get by using the methods outlined in this post

To uninstall the MSIX version of the Affinity 2 app right click the icon in the Windows Start menu the select Uninstall in the popup menu.
Can you please try disabling the OpenCL option in the Performance section of the Affinity Preferences.

Will update if it makes any difference. 

By the way, I see you are running it with 64GB ram - I am surprised that it's still lagging!

They are all in the adjustments.propcol file.
Copying that file should get them for you, but technically it is not a supported operation (just so you known  ). Finding the file will depend on your OS, and where you installed the program from, and (for Windows) the kind of installer that you used.

Presets created in individual adjustment panels can only be accessed through the Adjustment panel [View > Studio > Adjustment]. In this case, open the Adjustment panel and click on the Gradient Map line. This will insert a Gradient Map adjustment into your Layer stack, but it should also reveal any/all of your saved presets. Click on  one of them to change the gradient map to the one you want.
Before you even say it, I also think that the presets should be available from their associated panels (that is, the gradient map presets should be available from the Gradient Map panel, and so forth) but that's a whole different argument.

Could anyone please explain what the difference between 
Affinity V2 Universal License (Multi-user) and Individual Affinity V2 Universal License.
is Multi user version like a floating license?

Also, is there a discounted upgrade price for V1 user? 

I am also facing similar lag. 
But not immediately after starting - after the file some content it the lag becomes noticeable - restarting the app also doesn't help. 
I am on Windows.
