  1. Hi I am trying to buy few licenses of Designer 2. But unable to add more than one license in the cart. Earlier I have done it but now can't! Is it possible to more than one license in the cart or do I have to buy one license each time? Pls help. Thanks.
  2. Another quick way is ctrl+C from the origin curve that has the intended profile and ctrl+shift+v after selecting new curve.
  3. I bought it from Affinity (not MS App store), so I have serials for the apps (Product Keys for V1 and Activation ID and Password for V2) . I just noticed on the terms and conditions that it can be installed on multiple computers/laptop used by the same user. Thanks for your help.
  4. Thanks for your reply. So I can use the same serial on my new laptop without uninstalling/deactivating the V1 and V2 apps from my old laptop?!
  5. I've got a few V1 and V2 apps licenses for a small company I run. I got a new laptop and I want to move my Affinity V1 Apps and Affinity V2 apps with Universal License to it. However the transition to the new laptop would take some time (2 weeks to a month) and it would be convenient to have them on both my laptops during the transition. After the transition is complete I will remove the V1 and V2 apps from the old laptop. Can I install Affinity V1 Apps and Affinity V2 apps with Universal License to the new laptop without uninstalling it from the old laptop? And can I use the same license on both systems? I am not going to run these apps simultaneously on both systems.
  6. @LCamachoDesign Thanks for posting this. I have been facing this issue for a while but wasn't able to figure out the exact steps to replicate it. Look forward to 2.2 solving it.
  7. No issue Rob. Thanks for your response. Update: Just wanted to let you guys know after. deleting the files mentioned above (RecentFiles.xml for all 3 apps) it's working fine.
  8. @r0b_k Thanks for confirming it! @walt.farrell Yes. That's the file on Windows. After I deleted these files (for all 3 V2 programs) it doesn't seem to crash when I click on the recent file button on the welcome screen. But now there's no file - will observe and update.
  9. @MikeTOThanks for the tip. I am not able to find mru.dat in Affinity folder! @r0b_k Is it called same on windows? I searched all C:\Users\***\AppData\Local\Microsoft\WindowsApps but cant find any mru.dat or MRU.dat.
  10. Affinity Designer V2 Crashes - When I click on the Recent Files button in the startup window. It works fine if I go to File > Open Recent Is it a common issue/known bug? I noticed that it's happening in Affinity Photo also, haven't tried it with Publisher yet. I am on Windows 10 and Using the MSIX installer for all.
  11. Thanks! I can find the adjustments.propcol files. The V1 files are easy to isolate but the V2 files are tricky as they are not in a V2 folder and they are not updating even if I add new presets in the Affinity photo folder. The one that's updating is located here C:\Users\(Username)\.affinity\Common\2.0\user (I'm on Windows) Thanks for your reply. Could you pls elaborate how?
  12. Hi Does anyone know how to save or export Affinity Photo's adjustment presets for another system?
  13. Thank you @4dimage. I also reduced the undo limit to 128. Will update if it makes any difference. By the way, I see you are running it with 64GB ram - I am surprised that it's still lagging!
  14. Hi, When I use Designer V2 - it works fine for sometime (may be an hour or so - can't be exact on this) but then it starts slowing down and everything becomes really laggy. For example, the selection of any object, selection of a new tool from the toolbar by click or by keyboard shortcut, selection of a context menu button takes 3-5 sec or more! The files I am working on are not that heavy, in fact most of them are under 1MB (it uses many gradients and vector brush) but still it lags severely. It seems like the lag is slowly creeping in before becoming noticeable. I reminds me of some earlier version of Designer V1 that had similar lag (which version resolved it I don't remember now) . I am using Designer V2 on Windows 10 V 21H2. (19044.2251) and face no such issue with Designer V1. I have turned off hardware acceleration / Open CL after seeing some other threads on similar (but not exactly same) lag issue - however it hasn't helped. Please let me know if there's a solution that I can try or if it's a known bug when it would be fixed. Thank you.
  15. I am also facing similar lag. But not immediately after starting - after the file some content it the lag becomes noticeable - restarting the app also doesn't help. I am on Windows.
  16. You didn't spell it out, but that's what you are essentially asking for. There will be bug fixes for Affinity V1 by the way, I saw it somewhere in the forum. Yes, Ableton, Arturia etc gives updates for some time - do they agree to do it forever? They would also drop support for some software/hardware when it's not feasible for them continue. It's entirely their discretion. There's a company that gave free software upgrades for almost 20 years (look up ZBrush) - it got taken over by Maxon this year and now subscription only. Clearly you are not able to see the value for a 30-50 USD software that gave 5+ years of updates and fixes, where it's competitors are ~20 times more expensive and don't even provide perpetual license, let alone free updates - so I am not sure what else to say!! May be open source software like Inkscape and Gimp would suit you better, Inkscape has many features that Affinity doesn't have, and same might be true for Gimp. Although, keep in mind, they also drop support for older plugins and scripts with major releases - but as you are not paying anything, you won't get worked up about loyalty bonus or discounted upgrade.
  17. I haven't come across any, if fact, many expensive software don't even give bug fixes after one year unless you buy their expensive AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract) even if they don't release a new version. Since it's 'plenty' can you give one example where a software company claim to resolve all bugs for eternity? I would love to know. This is really unfortunate - that's why I don't trust Apple. Serif should co-ordinate with Apple and help their users. (I would leave MS also, if the programs I need to use professionally are available on Linux)
  18. It's ridiculous how some people are upset about not getting the loyalty discount for using V1. Given it's price, especially with the discount, it seems it's not the price but they are upset because the new users are not discriminated with an inflated price! By the way, Serif is upgrading the apps to V2 if someone has bought V1 within a month before the new release. I saw a reply from a mod on the launch day. I was eagerly waiting when Affinity for Mac was announced and I also bought Affinity the day it came out for PC. I have picked up about 20 licenses so far even though only 1/4th of them are in use. I am still about it as the price is ridiculously low - let alone the discounted price! And I wanted to support an alternative to the Adobe and their regressive rental model. I used Adobe for almost two decades - and it was very painful to move away from them to say the least - it took few years for me to get comfortable with Affinity and come to terms with its limitations and differences - but looking back I was totally worth it!
  19. Everyone is missing something or the other when compared to other apps (including me) - however, for me there are quite a few improvements that makes it worth it (and I want to continue with Affinity for various reasons esp because I decided to move away from Adobe) . I haven't explored but you can check if they have a return policy if it's not meeting your requirements.
  20. If you know any company that fixes all bugs before moving to the next version. I would love to know. Even much more expensive software (CAD) that costs thousands of dollars offer bug fixes only for 1 year after purchase - and unless you buy AMC that also cost thousands of dollar you don't get any bug fix after it, even for the same version!! Again, pls show me one company who does it? If you want to really see it as a subscription model, it's a subscription model where the app cost about 0.4 to 2 USD per month per app and you can use it as long as you want after paying!! As opposed to ~20 USD per month and you can't pay , you can't use it even for a minute... can you notice the difference? Yes, they are not making the existing users feel special by discriminating against the new users with inflated price - but that's how they are actually making it balanced - if you are the 'most loyal' and using affinity apps from the beginning and you got the discounted price you have been essentially paying about US$ 0.4 per month ( USD 30 for 72 months ) where as if you just got it last month you are paying more and more - upto USD 50-60 for one month* (although I read on one thread here that Serif is upgrading the licenses to V2 for free if you got it very recently). Yes! I hope so or else they would look like Luminar/Skylum etc. That's great. To be honest, I had never heard of Serif before they announced Affinity Photo and Designer in 2015. I used Adobe for 16-17 years and it was very painful to move away from them to say the least - it took few years for me to get comfortable with Affinity and come to terms with its limitations and differences - but I didn't want to support the regressive rental model of Adobe and Affinity was the only worthwhile alternative for me. I feel it was worth it and overall I am very happy with Affinity. If your experience has been mostly bad and you don't feel it's worth it, I wonder why don't you move to a better alternative...
  21. @monzo @Florin Iaru @Sam Neil @BAKAI @PaulEC In 2012, Photoshop CS6 costed US $700 and Photoshop CS6 Extended costed $1000 that was its last perpetual license - there was no new features added after the release - the bug-fix updates also stopped sometime after Creative Cloud came out one year later. Affinity Photo V2 costs US$ 41 (without discount $70) so does Designer and Publisher. In 2012 Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign would cost $1400-$2000 (depending on if you buy it as a package or individually) Affinity V2 Suite costs US$ 100 (without discount $170) Affinity's suite costs less than 2 months of rental of similar apps from the other company! and for those rental apps, you have nothing to claim if you stop paying - even if you spend thousands of dollars over a few years. Are you guys really upset about the price? or are you upset that you didn't get any preferential treatment over the new users? Would you be happy if it costed more to the new user? or do you think what you are getting from Affinity is not worth its price? Think about it... (I for myself was expecting some features that are missing in V2, and I am struggling how their new MSIX based installation works on Windows, But weighing the overall situation, such as - regressive rental model from almost all creative software companies, lack of decent professional apps with perpetual license and not to mention the price and how Affinity could manage to do a few things better than the rental apps developed by the market leader with practically unlimited resources!! I see the Affinity apps as nothing less than a miracle for me and I would do whatever little I could to to support them and make their business model sustainable..)
  22. There are many threads on this forum on this since the 2.0 launch. Yes, they are not giving the existing customers any special discount for loyalty, but considering its perpetual license and how much (or how little) it costs, esp with the discount - it's still a very good deal.
