All Media Lab Posted June 19, 2019 Posted June 19, 2019 Hi, First of all congrats with the new Affinity app Publisher!!! The Windows Publisher Bugs "place" (button is missing!) doesn't work. The Studio Link in Publisher is not recognizing my installed Designer and Photo and is asking to purchase them!? Regards, David Quote
Staff Jon P Posted June 19, 2019 Staff Posted June 19, 2019 Have you ran both Designer and Photo up? Quote Serif Europe Ltd. - www.serif.com
All Media Lab Posted June 19, 2019 Author Posted June 19, 2019 Yes I also opened all apps and did a restart (Windows 10 latest OS). Quote
Staff Mark Daniel Posted June 19, 2019 Staff Posted June 19, 2019 You need to have installed and run the 1.7.1 Windows versions of Photo and Designer. Have you updated to the latest versions? All Media Lab, Jon P and Leigh 2 1 Quote
fmz Posted June 19, 2019 Posted June 19, 2019 I have installed the latest versions of Photo and Designer, but Publisher is recognizing only Photo. I re-installed Designer and reboot Windows 10 several times but Designer is still not recognized. Any suggestion? Quote
Staff Patrick Connor Posted June 19, 2019 Staff Posted June 19, 2019 @fmz Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums Please can you go to "\%ProgramData%\Affinity\Common\1.0\appinfo\Release" and delete the Designer Release.appinfo. Once deleted, re-run both Designer and then try the StudioLink again. junOlive, DoctorMicro and BGSvM 3 Quote Patrick Connor Serif Europe Ltd Latest V2 releases on each platform Help make our apps better by joining our beta program! VX27 Posted June 19, 2019 Posted June 19, 2019 I was having the same problem, but after updating both Photo and Designer (and restarting Publisher) all is working well. Quote

I had to follow a slightly different path to find the Photo Release.appinfo configuration file and delete it. In windows the path is: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Affinity\Common\appinfo\Release\Photo Release.appinfo I had to have admin authority to delete the file. This fixed the problem with Publisher-Photo interoperability. JJ BlendBloke 1 Quote

If Windows does not recognize the apps as installed they are unlikely to run properly in any case. After a Windows reset you generally need to reinstall the programs that were lost.
