  1. Agreed, it's a losing battle trying to win over a legion of designers that are used to another tool set. Like I said above, I like what's there in all of the three programs but it's just a matter of reorienting my work flow in order to achieve some of the same results in other software.
  2. Definitely not looking for a return, and I definitely like what's there I'm just whining about having to use a work around for something that I can easily do in another program. Affinity is a good alternative for anyone looking for a non-subscription design suite. Designer and Photo feel like decent enough replacements for me since Illustrator and Photoshop are secondary to my InDesign use.
  3. Long time Adobe user here (InDesign being my primary jam), and was really hoping Publisher 2 would shore up some of the missing features that I so desperately have to have such as "Span Columns" for instance. I prematurely picked it up but I suppose I should have grabbed the 30 day trial or just stuck with V1. Would love to jump ship from Adobe but no way can I until very simple things such as Span Columns make it into Publisher.
  4. Let me pile on the "We need NESTED STYLES," or whatever you would like to call it demand. Nested styles is essential in creating dynamic copy and reducing a significant amount of handwork.
  5. I put this together for my offline Twitch channel banner. I've been looking at Miami Vice imagery, and recently rewatched the trailer for Far Cry: Blood Dragon and thought I'd take a stab at something like this. The font is a freebie called "Free Fat Font". Perfect for 80s Retro. Thanks for the look!
  6. Never mind, it's me. I just created a Rounded Rectangle an added multiple strokes no problem.
  7. Any word on this? Trying to add multiple strokes to text and unable to b/c both options, "Add Stroke" and "Add Fill", are unable to be selected. Or is it me?
  8. That. Is. Awesome! Thanks for pointing that out. I'll keep Frame Properties in mind as well when dealing with placed images. Thanks again!
  9. Curious if there is a similar command to InDesign's Fitting function which tightens up the marquee boxes around text boxes (or placed content). I like to keep my text boxes nice and tight and it's a heck of a time saver not having to manually drag boxes around etc. Thanks!
  10. Span Columns is a must. I'll be looking into alternative methods for the time being however.
  11. I'm sure if I'm having the exact issue you two mentioned, but I'm running into a similar issue that I end up with the Hand tool and I'm unable to use anything else. Restarting the software is the only solution. Working in Affinity Publisher, and using Sync Utility to work on Affinity Designer.
  12. I was having the same problem, but after updating both Photo and Designer (and restarting Publisher) all is working well.
