trevorm
Text looked fine on previous version but after the latest update all the text in a document I am creating is blurred. It prints correctly and all the program label text is sharp. What has happened?
Staff MEB Posted November 2, 2018 Staff Share Posted November 2, 2018 Hi trevorm, Welcome to Affinity Forums Not sure what you mean by blurred. Can you attach and screenshot of what you are seeing please? Thank you. A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
walt.farrell
I'm seeing it too in Text Frames. .157 for Windows: That's 64-point Arial. Looks anti-aliased for some reason. (At smaller font sizes it almost looks like it has a gray drop-shadow of some kind.) Edit: Here's 12-pt Arial: Also affects Artistic Text. trevorm
I have taken a screen shot from Publisher and one of the original from Designer. You can see that the publisher version has a sort of shadow effect. It was just as sharp as the Designer clip with the previous version. walt.farrell
Latest status: I re-downloaded Publisher .157 from the new download page (different today from when I downloaded yesterday), and ran the new installer (affinity-publisher-beta-1.0.7.157.exe). It offered me the option to Repair or Uninstall. Repair didn't help, so I chose Uninstall. I then re-ran it and reinstalled 1.7.0.157. Text is still blurry. -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. iPad: iPad Pro M1, 12.9": iPadOS 17.4.1, Apple Pencil 2, Magic Keyboard Mac: 2023 M2 MacBook Air 15", 16GB memory, macOS Sonoma 14.4.

Wosven
Same problem here on Win 7. It looks like a bad pixel preview… but there's no such parameter I can find. Windows text is scaled to 115 % on a 1920×1080 screen.

Staff MEB Posted November 2, 2018 Staff Share Posted November 2, 2018 The scaling on Windows is indeed the cause of the issue. Setting it to 125% on my machine does also rasterise the text for screen. A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
