It does, (despite not being listed)... The camera in the 13 Pro and Pro Max are the same... To be honest there were no issues opening iPhone 13 Pro RAW files with the 'Serif Labs RAW Engine' in v2.3.1...

It's the iPhone 13 Pro that is missing from the Serif list for whatever reason despite appearing on the LibRaw list... However, the iPhone 13 Pro Max is equally missing from the LibRaw list despite it using the same camera and sensor as the iPhone 13 Pro and Affinity Photo happily opening RAW files from all iPhone 13 models using the Serif Labs Raw Engine...

I'm confused. I have a basic iPhone 13 (not the pro or max version) & AFAIK its camera does not support shooting RAW. What am I missing?

You have to distinguish between RAW and ProRAW formats here. - See related for example ...

... as there are other third-party apps which support RAW shooting with common plain iPhone models.

For Apple ProRAW see here .

That mostly gets me bad links, discussions about the Pro models, or about professional cameras (not iPhones). There is nothing among them that shows any way to enable RAW on the non-pro iPhone 13 model like the one I have.

I looked through all those links & still could find nothing about enabling or supporting any RAW format on the non-pro iPhone 13 model, nor can I find any setting anywhere on mine to enable RAW.

Additionally, from https://www.apple.com/iphone-13/specs/ in the Camera section it says "Image formats captured: HEIF and JPEG." There is nothing there about RAW support at all.

I'm not sure what you mean by "common" iPhones, nor could I find any specific info in any of the suggested links about anything other than  apps for the pro models that support ProRAW or any other RAW format.

You seem to not get it, look closer and read what people wrote there. There are third-party apps which allow to shoot in RAW data format with normal iPhones 13/14/15 too (so no iPhone Pro/Max and/or ProRAW is needed when using such apps).

Quote

These were all suggested because they can shoot in RAW when I wish (my iPhone 14 is not the PRO version and does not shoot in ProRAW).
...
In general, iOS devices do support various photo formats, including RAW and HEIF. Third-party camera apps available on the App Store usually support these formats.
...

... all of the apps mentioned can shoot RAW (not ProRaw, just plain Raw).

Thanks, but I guess I did not make it clear that I was asking about built-in support, not what I could get from the store, particularly those with in app purchases.

Besides, as I understand it, the only RAW option with any of them for non-pro models is DNG, which I thought already was supported in AP. Am I wrong about that?

Tested with Affinity Photo 2.4.0 Beta Build 3 (2256).
Loaded RAW data shot with ILCE-7CM2 (A7C 2).
The overall color tone seems to be high in magenta.
There is a big difference from the JPEG data recorded at the same time.

Hi @tzvi20,
Thank you for your feedback. I'm aware of dpreview and similar sites, from which we are already collecting samples whenever feasible. The purpose of this thread however is to gather files from users who are encountering issues with the files from the aforementioned cameras, especially those from the most recent models which are not easy to get. The goal is to analyze and address these problems before the official release.

For what very little it is worth, I downloaded 2 interesting looking sample files from there & both looked fine when developed -- no weird magenta colors in either one.

One was DSC00135.ARW from https://www.dpreview.com/sample-galleries/0861943200/sony-a7c-ii-sample-gallery/3489748051

The other was DSC00137.ARW from https://www.dpreview.com/sample-galleries/0861943200/sony-a7c-ii-sample-gallery/3973637196

Both were landscapes so they might not be ones that won't develop properly ....

I just did that & it also is free of any weird magenta colors. This is what it looks like after just opening it & clicking the Develop button:

Hi @MEB

I've received my Sony A9iii (ILCE-9M3) and when I open RAW files in Photo 2.4 beta, it looks OK to start, but actually the bottom and right edges have bars of black pixels:

image.thumb.png.7c1e9d6371ee0905c5b2d15a84a58419.png

These aren't present in Lightroom for reference:

image.thumb.png.21060c10f0377cfcccfc66039d944a39.png

Here's the .ARW file for reference. It was captured in the RAW lossless compressed format.  A9302665.ARW

And for what it's worth, I can open the same file in Photo 2.3 and it renders exactly the same with the black bars.

Very happy to provide more samples with this camera if you need.

Your sig says you have the 2.3 apps & MacOS Sonoma 14.2, so assuming that's correct can't you try with that, after downloading the 2.4 beta if you don't already have it?

Affinity Photo's RAW processing intentionally retains edge pixels that are outside of the camera's documented image dimensions, and which most other programs will automatically trim off. This way you get to see everything the sensor captured, in case some of it is usable and useful.

Perhaps that's what you're seeing?
