Any new features expected to come with Vers 2.2?

Bernard

The numbering goes from A.B.C. Conventionally:

A is the Version. Major Changes.

B is new and or improved Features/Tools.

C is Bug Fixes.

So I would expect 2.2.x to have some new features. Whereas 2.1.1 was some bug fixes over 2.1.0

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4
Affinity Designer 2.4.1 | Affinity Photo 2.4.1 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.1 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

And when A or B changes, the file formats are incompatible with releases that have a smaller A or B value.

Thus, we should expect that 2.1 won't be able to open 2.2 files.

It would be amazing to see the recently "hinted" Blend tool added. It has been requested since version 1.0 was in beta, many, many years ago.

Yes, it's badly missed. Here, too. However, I have a feeling that Serif does not throw "big" news into a (late) summer release, but waits for a release where marketing and sales and attention go up, not now when the season attracts attention and sends us on vacation or adventure.

It would be good to be able to export indesign format or Ai format because since all the Adobe suit is industry standard, but it sucks and it's ux outdated, we need some features to work for profissionalismo without going back to adobe.

Photo needs AI tools

Designer needs Blend tool

Publisher needs indd format.

2.2 will be a fairly short beta cycle and is now basically feature complete, but will get some more builds to iron out the bugs.

2.3 may be longer beta to allow for more complex features. I would expect that new cycle to start shortly after 2.2 is released.

Hope some more exciting features will come to Affinity Photo, reading changelogs for V2+ branch feels more like a maintenance mode :(

I was kind of expecting opposite with inflow of new monies from people upgrading.

It could be 2.1/2.2 were meant to include "ready-ish" features that weren't ready for prime time for when 2.0 needed to be dropped. They are wrapping up development work from then before starting to work on more major/complex things. It's just my guess. 2.0 was released not even a year ago. We are already looking towards 2.3. That's why I think some of the stuff that is being added is just remnants and continuation of items that didn't make it into 2.0 and perhaps we will see bigger items/complex/comprehensive improvements added as the betas continue more suited for a new cycle of development. I hope. And older bugs finally being addressed. Please, Serif.

Please activate Password PDF again. This was a great add-on. Got hidden in last beta.

Yes, 2.3 beta will continue and likely complete/release this feature
