Dan C got a reaction from nezumi in Affinity Photo Gradient Map Preset - How to Access them
There's no direct option for this within the Affinity app - however you can copy your Adjustments.propcol file from one system to another to transfer these.
On Windows, these can be found in the following folders:
Affinity Store (MSIX) & Windows Store: %USERPROFILE%\.affinity\Common\2.0\user\
Affinity Store (EXE) : %appdata%\Affinity\Common\2.0\user\ On macOS, this file is found under:
    ~/Library/Group Containers/6LVTQB9699.com.seriflabs/v2/user/
I hope this clears things up

I have raised this internally with our team previously - I'll be sure to 'bump' this now as I am uncertain for the reason they have chosen for the difference in default tools.
This request is either to have Photos default tool be set to the Move Tool to match Designer/Publisher, or allow the users control over their default tool choice in all Affinity apps.
Alongside this, I can certainly see the benefits to being able to 'cancel' out of the current tool and return to your 'default tool' using ESC - whether this is the Move Tool or otherwise, as per the above.
Therefore I'll be sure to raise this with our team also, to be considered for a future update

    Hi @Alcahest,
    Welcome to the Affinity Forums
Not to worry, your English is certainly understandable - but if you wish to post in your native language, then you are welcome to do this and our team can translate our replies.
    Under Affinity [Photo/Designer/Publisher] 2 > Settings > Tools (macOS) or Edit > Settings > Tools (Windows) you can enable the Synchronise Tools between documents option;

However unfortunately this isn't currently supported for all tools, including the Selection tools - such as the Marquee Selection being set to the 'Add' mode, therefore this will be document independent at this time.
This is logged with our development team, to add support for these selection tools to synchronise across documents in a future update, therefore I'll be sure to add your 'vote' to this now.
I hope this clears things up!

Dan C got a reaction from Hangman in Photo : Filters>Procedural Texture bug on French MacOS version
    Hi @Roderic,
    Welcome to the Affinity Forums
    Thanks for your report!
I can confirm I'm able to replicate this here- it appears as though the application is expecting the procedural texture to use 'RGB' based formulae, even when the UI is set to French language and shows canal vert :
    2024-03-19 12-47-37.mp4
I'm a little unsure if this is expected behaviour at this time - as I can see why a user would expect 'RVB' to be used based on the channel options in the Procedural Textures dialog, however as Procedural Textures also support custom variables (including the letter 'V'), I can partially understand why the behaviour is as shown above.
Therefore I'm going to raise this with our development team now, and log it as a bug if they confirm it as such.
In the meantime, if you use 'G' in place of 'V' in your equations, you should find this works as shown in the tutorial!

Dan C reacted to PartMan.PartMachine. in Porsche 911 ST 2.5 Rendering Post Production
After being made redundant last year and losing my access to a CC subscription I decided to switch to Affinity Photo and Designer for my personal work. I got to work in Designer immediately using it to put together a new CV & Portfolio which meant I was then employed as soon as my gardening leave ended. The one off payment made much more sense as for personal work as there may be weeks at a time when I don't have the need for image manipulation as I'll still be working on the 3D side of any project.
I've found the switch very easy and have no plans to go back to Adobe for personal work even though I now have CC access again via my new job.
This was my entry for the Automotive CGI Facebook group monthly competition where I tried to focus on a low key lighting setup. The Carrera & Porsche vinyl decals were created in Affinity Designer and all of the post production was finished in Affinity Photo. The base render was achieved in 3DS Max 2023 & Corona 11. I've included screenshots of the raw render and the layer stack so please feel free to critique.

Yep, that's exactly what happens. It's a pain because there's often no part of the app to click on to drag, move or resize the canvas and pallets. Resetting is no fun because I spend a lot of time setting up things for optimal use and placement. Hope Dev is able to code in an update. Thanks for the advice. 👍

    Hi @AnonD,
Thanks for your report! It sounds as though you are experiencing the below, known issue -
Hopefully you should find that using Window > Zoom correctly returns the full Affinity app to your main display, when unplugging from your external monitor.
Our team are working to fix this for a future update, as we would expect the window to automatically resize based on the currently available display(s).
    I hope this helps

Our team believe this to be improved within the V2.4 update for Affinity - though we're aware it is not yet completely resolved.
The above Window > Zoom workaround can still be used in the meantime, but we ask that if you are still experiencing this issue within V2.4 to please create a new thread with as much information regarding your setup as possible, so our team can track this issue more closely with our developers.
Many thanks for your continued patience and understanding here whilst we work to resolve this issue!

As mentioned above, and in the other thread you posted to, new licences for the V1 applications are no longer available for purchase.
And you can’t ask anyone if you can buy their old licence because the Affinity licences are non-transferable.

I can confirm that the Grid update issue is specific to Windows only, however I would expect both the Spacing and Gutter input fields to offer sliders on macOS, as shown for Windows & therefore I'll get this logged with our UI team now - thanks for raising this

I’m teaching myself Affinity Design 2 for IPad. And last night I was wrestling with creating a repeat pattern template. I couldn’t get it to synchronize between 2 art boards. So I did a search which led me to this forum and to someone who was having the exact same problem I was having. And u posted a video of how to do. Holy cow! U have no idea how wonderful finding it was!!! I watched that video maybe 25 times. And finally, Finally, I got it to work. Thank u so much for posting that video - I think it was about 3 years ago. U r my hero!!!

I agree, my apologies as I initially thought this was part of the trigger for this issue, but further testing when logging the issue with our developers indicated this was not necessarily required to cause this - therefore I edited my above post to remove this section.
Though I could have made that clearer within the post itself, thanks for helping to confirm these findings

I saw a story about terraforming another planet for humans to live on. It was a very interesting story, but I think it is not possible in the near future. Because there are too many variables and humans are too weak. This time, I tried to express that kind of thinking.

    Hi @Dan C,
I think the issue here is actually different and not a result of the Allow Advanced Features option...
If you set up a CMYK and an RGB version of the same document and test, the issue only appears to happen with the RGB version irrespective of the font or stroke alignment and irrespective of whether Allow Advanced Features is enabled or not.

    AFAIK it's the first selected curve which will be converted to a selection in this instance, however;
I understand this to be a V1 iPad issue only, as in V1 Desktop or V2 Desktop/iPad you're unable to convert the multi-selection of Curve objects to a Selection, which is the correct & expected behaviour

Ok great! I don't have both on the same computer so that would be why that happened. I ended up getting a new computer because of the brush lag issues I was having and didn't know how to get affinity V1 onto the new one. So I bought affinity V2 instead. Which is fine because I'm happy that I got so much with it. I'll look at what you've said thanks Dan 🙂

    Hi Dan
Sorry, I had other major (unrelated) Mac issues so it has been out of action. I think I entered the whole System folder as a search location, not wise!
In an ideal world, Luminar Neo would recognise the presence of Affinity Photo 2 and place an appropriate plug-in in an appropriate place, but I guess that is wishful thinking!

    Hi @LeaS,
Not to worry, I've moved your thread to the correct 'Questions' section of the forums.
When first launching Affinity V1, you should have been prompted if you wish to transfer your custom content from V1 to V2 - provided both apps are installed on the same device.
Alternatively, within V2 you can open the My Account dialog (the 'User' icon in the top right) and sign into your Affinity ID. Once signed in you will see a list of all your compatible add-on kits, including the Inksy Street Art brushes.

Installing these through the My Account dialog will make the brushes available in Affinity - though please note you will need to be in the Pixel Persona to use these in Affinity Designer.
    I hope this helps

Please stop advising other users who should or shouldn't post here on the Affinity Forums, this is the role of the moderation team and not yourself as a user.
I'd recommend following the above advice and using the 'Ignore' option if you don't wish to see certain users replies in this thread.
