DM1 got a reaction from paharper in Not possible to RENAME a document?
Possibly true, but other apps such as Documents app can have files such as pdf etc open and being edited and still rename the file within the app even while editing. It’s clearly possible and I suspect, preferable to be able to do so.

DM1 got a reaction from paharper in Not possible to RENAME a document?
The feature was removed as it often resulted in an externally saved file having a different name to the document stored in the app itself.

DM1 reacted to Sean P in Guides positions not retained in latest beta Designer
Thanks for that,
I've reproduced here - it looks like they're being scaled to the thumbnail's size when initially opened. A quick zoom should correct them.
Its not actually just guides that are affected, its object bounding boxes as well. If you draw a shape out whilst the guides look like that the bounding box is offset!
I'll get it logged!
Cheers

Thanks @stokerg. I can report it’s working perfectly in the photo 2 beta. Makes things much easier!😁👍

DM1 got a reaction from Alfred in Affinity Designer - How Can I Split The Canvas Into Equal 12 Parts And Print Each Of Them As A4 Separately?
Yes, unless you purchased the universal license which covers all platforms.
Creating a large canvas on iPad (210x4)x(297x3) then setting guides at 4 rows and 3 columns with zero gutters/margins should work. Draw your pattern, then in Export persona create 12 A4 slices around the guides. You can print slices individually. Here’s an example with 12 A4 panels and slices.

Just a guess but...
Can you use the Slice Tool in the export persona to create 12 slices then open & print each slice separately?
I don't have an iPad

Best way on iPad to open multiply is to drag´n´drop pictures from the Files app or directly from the picture app into the iPadOS…
Works great!

Hi @DM1,
Just thought I'd highlight this post by Ash, as he has confirmed the Dev team are going to look into enabling placing multiple images in Designer and Photo

DM1 got a reaction from Paul Mudditt in Placing images in Photo/Designer V2
Is there any reason that when placing images in Designer or Photo there is no option to select multiple images (as done when access is via Publisher).
I can place multiple images on canvas but have to select and add each one individually.

DM1 reacted to 3DJ in Selecting Text is a joke on iPad
Thanks guys, I think it may be because the text was imported from a Dr and it was horizontally scaled… Just tried selecting text in another document and its better.

DM1 got a reaction from Dan C in 2 Questions: Where are the rulers in for Designer (iPad)?
Grids are available, see attached photo. Snapping is magnet symbol next to preview menu.
Both are available in current beta. Should be available in rel soon, if you don’t want to try beta.🙂

DM1 reacted to Nedde in How to Distort/Free Transform an image?
Thank you Paul! Actually, I am really glad I switched over to Affinity, but after working with Photoshop for 19 years, Affinity confuses me sometimes.
So more patience and a good forum with friendly (and patient!) members help a lot.

DM1 got a reaction from bpedit in 400 dpi limit?
You can, but only up to 400dpi. This surely has to be a bug as there is no logical reason for limiting. Post should be moved to Designer bug forum. 🤔

DM1 got a reaction from NotMyFault in How do I duplicate a layer in Affinity Photo 2 for iPad?
The others ways are to duplicate a selected layer:
1. long press anywhere on screen to bring up the quickmenu, tap Duplicate
2. While holding two fingers on the screen, touch and drag the object.

DM1 reacted to LionelD in What RGB to CMYK options are there?
Your question is part of a topic called “Color Management”, and it’s a big deal in the photographic and video worlds where color fidelity really matters. I don’t know what the standard practice for graphics is.
Photo printers, e.g., the Canon Pixma Pro series use inks that are based on CMYK, but expect input in an RGB color space. These printers handle the RGB to CMYK conversion internally, and can’t handle an image that is already in a CMYK space.
So, assuming you are sending work to a (commercial) printer that really expects CMYK, you can convert your image in Designer using the Convert Document process. On my iPad it is in the hamburger menu in the top left of the screen. See https://affinity.help/designer2/en-US.lproj/# for more information. You may need to ask your print company what the appropriate CMYK color space is.

DM1 reacted to LionelD in What RGB to CMYK options are there?
@Affinity100 Thanks for your kind words.
Because of my photography background I always use the ProPhoto workspace in new Designer documents. My master files live in that color space, and I convert to output color space/s at the last possible moment. Many photographers use this approach, or one that’s very similar.
ProPhoto is a very large color space, and output color spaces are usually much smaller - i.e., ProPhoto has colors that the output color spaces do not. That’s an issue I deal with at the time I convert to the target color space.
Keeping all my master files in the same, very large color space simplifies things for me - I don’t have to worry about color spaces until I create the output files.

Lionel

DM1 reacted to NotMyFault in What RGB to CMYK options are there?
this is very true for digital photographs.
There is only one catch: if working in wide-gamunt color spaces, you should use RGB/16 while editing, too. Otherwise, in RGB/8, you run the risk of getting banding artifacts, as the number of steps per color channel gets effectively reduced below 255 for those colors who fall into the sRGB range. So for illustration where you might intentionally use a limit set of base colors and create gradients, RGB/8 and sRGB can be the better option.
So it really depends on intentions.

DM1 got a reaction from Dan C in I am an IDIOT - but tell me again
Lol, no bother Sharkey. Been there, done that.
For others in a similar position, a two finger tap will undo last action. A 3 finger tap will redo.
I that’s too hard, you can turn on the undo/redo controls in preferences. They will then be available in studio bar at the bottom of screen.😁

DM1 got a reaction from Paul Mudditt in Rearranging pages, Publisher v2 on iPAD
It should be reasonably easy. It is still drag and drop on ipad. For double pages where only wanting to move a single page just tick the one you want to drag. Position it slightly to right of page you want to move to and drop it. If it lands in wrong spot just drag it again.🙂

DM1 got a reaction from Chris B in iPad beta 1709 unexpected crop tool adjustment with sliders
Works correctly at first but after switching between custom and original and thirds spiral and none options in context toolbar, individual x2 sliders affect both height and width.
Edit. May also depend on previous mode being view or move.
