1.7.0.258 release notes
I learn a lot by redoing what others have done. I’m not into isometric illutration but I will try to do some things like the ones @iamscotty shared.
Best regards!
Construction mode has been (temporarily) removed while we make it more of a general feature (rather than just the Node tool). It will re-appear soon.
I think the button for Construction snapping was accidentally removed for the last Beta. It should be back in the next one. That button opens up all the snapping for handle directions and lengths, and should include the snapping shown in video 2.
Hi there!
I just wanted to share a list of Free for Commercial Use Fonts. This is a curated[*] list of some of the best freely available Fonts out there. The criteria I had in order to come up with this list:
They have to be either Free or Open Source Fonts.
They can be used in commercial projects (some restrictions may vary from Font to Font, so be sure to read first). I made my best to ensure this point, but I could be wrong and I'd be more that happy if you let me know if I made a mistake.
No attribution required.
In some cases (Serif and Sans Serif), they have to have more than two weights (at least one italic included).
Support for Spanish characters like Á, Ü, ¿¡!?, Ññ (since I speak Spanish, this was mandatory, but there are many more good Fonts that don't cover this criteria).
[*] I have basic knowledge about typography, but I have read reviews from well educated people in order to ensure quality.
Well, here it is the list. As you can see, they are grouped by classification, and a general one in that regard. Some of the Serif and Sans Serif fonts were included in "Headlines" because they had one weight or they had no italics/oblique.
[UPDATE] Added notes on some cases, like what the Font can be an alternative of.
[UPDATE] Added the number of Fonts.
[UPDATE] Adding previews of the fonts... eventhough some of them won't look as good, but it will help before clicking on a link.
[UPDATE] Where possible, I added a link to real life examples linking to Fonts In Use, for inspiration.

Hi there.
I wanted to share the following for those who want to Warp Text, but you need Photoshop Elements (PSE):
In PSE, there is already a feature for warping your texts.
The problem is that if you Save it as PSD and open the file in Designer, it's just pixels.
After a quick search, I found the following. PSE is capable of converting Text to Shape (Curves), and there is an Add-on that allows the user to access said feature. So, after a test, I could fo the following in PSE 10.
First, writ and Warp a Text in PSE.
The Add-on will appear in the Effects Panel (I downloaded the Demo Version). double click and the "Elements+ Demo" window will appear:
After the conversion has been applied (remember to duplicate the Layer to have a Back Up). Save the File and open it in Designer/Photo. It will appear as a Compound:
I tried to do the same in Photopea, but I couldn't find a function to convert the text. If it's there, that'd save you the trouble of using PSE. I will post this on the Tutorials forums, maybe it will be of use for more folks here.
EDIT: To convert text to Shapes in Photopea, right click on the Objetc, inside the Layers Panel, and select "Convert to Shape". You can save the file as PSD and you will have the Vectors available.
Best regards!
After thinking about this, now I count myself among the people that ask for this feature and I do so believing that it will benefit both sides: users and Serif.
Best regards!
Hi there!
I just wanted to share a list of sites that offer Public Domain Pictures in good quality. Some of them are listed in this thread, but I wanted to add more and publish a list of this kind of content (CC0 License, and also a High Permissive Licenses sites). Also, consider that there may be additional restrictions implied on these pictures, like brandings, buildings, people, etc.
Also, please read each site's Licensing in order to ensure what can and can't be done.
Edit: Since I crated this Topic, some things have changed, so: I removed non-working links and added a few more:

I rather suspect that Matt Priestley, Andy Somerfield, Adam Whitehouse and the other developers might have something to say about not being considered to be part of “the whole team”. And the same goes for other tech support and QA staff besides Gareth, Sean and Miguel.
@jstnhllmn
And your hopes meet a good end, because that's not how they or me measure them. Nor there is a justification, it's just that "for features that have existed in Illustrator et al since when, the early 90s?" implied that the Development of Illustrator has been a wonderful tale to tell, which is not true and that's why I mentioned those two cases.
Even Adobe as a big company, with all of its resources, has this kind of pits.
About the Warp/Distortion/Perspective Tool, the way I see it: it's not a Basic but an Intermediate Feature that is used a lot, and for the cases it's used in, there is no workaround to it. I want it to be a reality too, but that's the thing with Software Development, sometimes good things take years to come to fruition.
Frustration? The amount of it differs from person to person, so don't project yours into others, the same way I don't try to lessen yours or change your perspective on this matter.
Best regards!
Ah, like when it took Adobe 30 years to have a Crop Tool in Illustrator, or that time when they had their users without the Handles snapping to the Grid capability for two complete years in said Application.
Best regards!
