I'd like to add my voice to this feature request.  Very surprised to find it not available.

It's a MUST! ICON VIEW or a lower panels width limit.

Collapsible palette functionality that reduces the palettes into an icon.
This would allow more screen real estate when working on designs.
Clicking the palette's icon should restore that palette as a fly-out with the others remaining collapsed.
 
Similar implementation to Adobe Photoshop / Illustrator (shown below).

The default worked great, thanks. I wonder why this is not in the Character panel top right menu as "Set as Default", though.
 
Regarding selecting all the frames, I wouldn't be able to because they're in groups. Is there a way to filter the layers panel to only text objects, or something similar do Illustrator's Select > Object > Text?

I think that Serif has worked enormously hard on Designer & Photo - those applications are great! People in the design world are praising those apps from Serif! You read and hear terms such as, "Photoshop Killer," "Easier and more powerful than Illustrator," and so on. So, there is a tremendous amount of pressure for Serif to get Affinity Publisher right from the first release. That is not going to be easy! Quark & InDesign are powerful apps and Serif have its work cut out. I predict that a beta will be ready for March 2017 and a possible release would be August 2017. I guess I am a little optimistic! :lol:   :D  :P

Our bug reports are stored on an internal database so it is not possible to bump it yourself. I have however bumped the issue Chris B mentioned with a link to this thread as well!

I often need to work with documents that have an unhealthy amount of layers.
A fast way to search a certain layer by it's name would really help.
Now I need to review the complete layer list over and over again, sometimes missing the layer, starting over etc...
This is actually the only feature I miss from Photoshop.
 
I know there is a feature where you can click objects and have the layer selected, but that does not help me because most layers I need to find are not visible.

Select the object (Jane text object in your case) and create a Symbol from it.
Here's the steps:
- go to menu View ▸ Studio ▸ Symbols to open the Symbols panel if it's not visible
- select the object you want to turn into a symbol (in your case the word Jane)
- press Create in the Symbols panel - the word Jane is now a symbol
- drag it from the Symbols panel to the canvas and duplicate the object on canvas as you usually do
When you change one of the symbols instance on canvas all the others will update to reflect the changes.

1. Your first request is already available. It´s called Power Duplicate in Affinity Designer. Here's how it works:
- Select an object.
- press cmd + J  (or go to menu and choose Edit -> Duplicate)
- transform the duplicated object as you wish
- press cmd + J again to apply your changes successively to the duplicated objects.
 
2. Currently it's still not possible to use an outside pivot, but it's coming.
 
3. Nothing to add
 
Please try to request just one feature per post. It helps developers keep track of requests and give other users the chance to add their comments to specific features.

As long as it is interpreted and not compiled, it is fine with me.
This way, anyone can create scripts/plugins, without the need of a compiler or a dedicated IDE.

Affinity would have to compete with the likes of DaVinci Resolve and Fusion - a tough nut to crack indeed.
 
DaVinci Resolve is a brilliant non-linear video editor, and the industry standard colour grading tool.
Fusion is a nodal compositor for visual effects - superior to After Effects for that type of work. Not as good for motion graphics, though.
 
Both are used in feature film production. Can't get any better than this, because the great thing is: both are free to work with up to ultra HD footage!

I would advice Serif to stay away from trying to compete in the professional video business.
 
I would, however, very much welcome a Flash type competitor - but even in that segment the competition is quite tough: 2016 has been very interesting for animators: Moho, ClipStudio, and of course the open sourced OpenTOonz (which is getting better with every new release). Krita also includes animation now, and is finally Mac ready!

Wishful thinking on my part, but will Serif be considering an Adobe Animate equivalent? Or better still, ToonBoom Harmony?

I think it's a thing for AffinityPhoto ... anyway... if a gif image (image's sequence) can't be created what's the point of exporting it as .gif ? ... (maybe there's a reason)

I'm very satisfied and already made a job for a client today.

I want to suggest some programs that you should consider:

1- Affinity Publisher (InDesign, Microsoft Publisher)
2- Affinity Animator (Video Editing and Animator, After Effects)

These programs are so needed and we will be completely free!

If you happen to consider just 1 of them, please be the Animator/Video Editing.

As for an After Effects equivalent, no word on that yet! Just like there is no word if Serif is coming up with a Scarlet/Dreamweaver equivalent, or just a robust perspective tool in A.Designer, if you get my point.

I assume you mean in Photo, right? I ask because there are layer adjustments in Designer as well.
 
I haven't used Final Cut Pro X. So you're saying it automatically detects less saturated areas of a video or image? That's cool, as oppose to correcting the overall media clip.

Been a bit on a hiatus with AD these last couple of months, and I had expected a simple distort or warp tool would have been implemented by now? Seems like this ought to be part of an illustration package's fundamental tool set, in my opinion.
 
I would not be able to switch to AD for vector work without it. So I'd like to add my voice in here: please add it. At the very least allow the user to CTRL-drag a corner point to distort the object.
