Heather17 reacted to Old Bruce in Affinity programs installed as ejectable disks on MAC?
Hello @Heather17
Those are going to be the DMG files expanded to be 'virtual' Disks. DMG is the file type for a " Disk Image ". If you look in the 'disk' then you'll most likely see the Application and an alias to your Applications folder. Once you drag the Application to the alias the Application is copied to your Applications Folder and then you can eject the 'disk' and delete the DMG file, you won't need it again unless you want to reinstall the application.

Heather17 got a reaction from AutomatonicGinfizz in Art Nouveau inspired flowers
I have years of experience in graphic design in the areas of marketing and advertising. Doing full illustrations like this isn't something I've done since art school, 20+ years ago. It is very satisfying.

Heather17 reacted to Foomandoonian in USS Enterprise, the original
I've just finished what ended up being my most detailed Designer piece and thought it would be worth sharing here.
Everything in this scene is vector, including the gas giant, with liberal use of blurs and other layer effects. While I could have completed this work purely in Designer, I opted instead to export various layers into Photos for final processing. Colours were adjusted, some subtle depth of field and grain added and a few other touches.
If anyone is interested, I posted my work-in-progress on Twitter.

Heather17 reacted to LassiP in Two snails please
Earlier this summer I took some photos of snails and modified them a little with Affinity Photo. Here are the results. With the first one I only edited the um.. "home" on the snails back a bit plus darkened the upper or more distant background using a gradient layer. The second snail got a little more dramatic change as you can see. I made the um.. "hut" green and the body a bit luminescent. Affinity products have really helped me advance as a photographer by motivating me. It's soo much more fun to take photographs, when you know you can make something fantastic (in more than one sense of the word fantastic) out of them.

Heather17 reacted to Mortimer in Affinity Photo "focus merge" helps tell the story
A short two frame burst at 1/4000 shutter speed, ISO 3200 and f/11 and the landing of this little female hummingbird shows more sense of motion.

Heather17 reacted to Smee Again in Clover Flower
Final image of a clover flower
Original image (size reduced for forum)
Cropping, obviously (to my taste).
Duplicated original image, cut out flower. On this layer I used "levels" adjustment to boost the black on flower. Next I used "shadows and highlights" adjustment layer to add some contrast. Finally used the "shadows and highlights" live filter to make final adjustments.
On background, simple "curves" adjustment layer.

Heather17 reacted to kevinmcsherry in Into the Wild
Here Hare Here. A combination of Black PTT pens, Vectorizer and Affinity Designer. I created several of these designs a few years ago for my web site here: https://www.mcsherrystudio.com/product-category/limited-edition-prints/into-the-wild-collection/
The idea was to get as close as possible to the natural feel of a linocut, so I drew out three separate 'plates' in black on tracing paper. That was a bit of a palaver but it did help to get a more handmade look. You get brownie points if you can guess where the title of this one came from...Happy new year Affinizens.

Heather17 reacted to MmmMaarten in I Animated my own Paper Drawing of 40 Years (!!) ago when I was five :-)
As an excercise today I Animated my own Paper Drawing of 40 Years (!!) ago when I was five years old 🙂
Wanted to practise animating, but also using Photo again after a long time only working with vectors. To refresh the workflow and knowledge of Photo a little bit and doing some raster work again.
Long live the Affinity Photo Clone Stamp, non-destructive vector masking and the great exporter which directly exports to Spine, which is
just wonderful! 😀 The video is also a seemless loop btw! 🚶♂️👍
