Affinity Photo Windows Customer Beta - 1.7.0.293

Created shapes have no fill color(simply white color). It behave a litte different compare to publisher and designer.

untitled.afphoto

It works if you select a colour in the colour palette first, or do CTRL-X to bring the default black background to the foreground.

1. Create something like a shape or a pixel layer,

2. Add  Perspective Live Filter on it (Not the Perspective-Tool)

3. Copy or cut this shape or layer with Perspective Live Filter

or you can just pick the uploaded file, copy or cut the layer inside it.

I can't confirm that. On my System (Win 10 home) the Live-Perspective-tool work as it should, with shapes and/or bitmaps and cut, copy and paste and control-J.

I test it on my surface pro5 and desktop. They are all windows 10 1809 17763.437. They have this same issue. Maybe it has to do with the system version.

I can confirm this. On my System it´s the same. The app crashs without an error message.
Watch the Screenvideo below please.

very very strange,
as I already wrote above there are no problems here.
Maybe there are problems with the graphic  card driver, is only a guess.

Cheers

@Gnobelix
I watched your video and yes, so how you make it,  no crash happens.
I reworked it like in your video and here the app also do not crash.
I believe the app crashs in this case only when the layerpanel only includes the layer of the shape. In your video you create at first a new pixel layer and then you draw a shape which will be created automatic in a seperate layer. So the error occurs when the layer panel goes empty by cut.

Please watch my video again and try it so how it is in my video shown.
- create a new document
- draw a shape without to create a new layer before
- make sure that the shapelayer is selected, select the live filter Perspective and work with it
- right klick on the shape layer and select cut
- the app crashs without an error message.

But now i found out that there is an other strange behavior in this case.
Watch the video below please.
I open a photo in AP, select the the Live Filter Perspective and MERGE it with the photolayer. Then i cut this layer and nothing happens.
In the second part of the video i open the same photo again, select the Live Filter Perspective and DO NOT MERGE it with the layer and... crash.

If you are using shapes it doesn´t matter if you merge or not, the app crashs with both settings.

Have a nice day.
Ich wünsche einen schönen Tag.

Merge Doesn't seem to work with shapes !! Needs To be rasterised before or after applying the perspective filter.
Although I can copy / paste and cut  without crashing, even with just the shape layer in the layers panel.

I tested it now how you wrote.
If i rasterise the shape and apply the filter without merging, it crashs if i cut the layer. If i merge it and cut it, no crash happens.

I can't confirm that here. Tried numerous ways to get the crash but couldn't.

@Ron P.
I read in your signature that you are using Win 10 Home 1803. If this is right i use a newer Version (1809) and perhaps the problem is specific to the newer Windows Version.
I believe this because @yebyte uses the same Version than me. @Ray S.  and you are using an older Version and you have no problems.

That could be possible, and if it is, I don't want to update my Win10 ;)

I've tried all sorts of scenarios now,
also the Szanieren as described by Uwe and HVDB, and I still had no crash.
I am using windows 10 pro (1809 system build 17763 437)

We are struggling to replicate this problem. Please can those who have it tell us if you have any clipboard manager working?

Please can you also confirm this is not (currently) true of 1.6.5, thanks

Sure enough, this problem was caused by the Windows Clipboard History function. And Windows 1809 bring this specific feature. After I disable it in windows setting, I can copy and cut without crashing.
