Beta 1769 broke StudioLink between Publisher and the other apps

This popup appears In Publisher when I click on the Designer or the Photo icons on the toolbar.

The popup seems to indicate that Publisher has not been updated, but if you're sure that it has been, I wonder if the problem is related to this other report:

Also, have you run all 3 applications since the update?

Yes, that seems to be the problem. In the Designer Mac app bundle there is a Info.plist file containing the incomplete version number. After I modified that string from "1769" to "2.1.0.1769", StudioLink started to work again.

So we need new macOS builds for the Designer and Photo apps, folks.

Worked for me as well.... a small post with step by step instructions is not beyond the scope of what a beta tester can handle comfortably, presumably....

Editing the plist file it works, but we get the update notification popup saying that a new version (1769) is available.

Hi @tudor

Thanks for your report, we've passed this over to the devs for investigation.

I am currently Out of Office, please tag @Affinity Info Bot in your replies for another member of QA to see.

This works great - I use studiolink 95% of the time and very rarely need photo or designer so no big deal for me that they no longer open, so chuffed with this workaround - maybe get fixed sometime soon?

The only thing this workaround appears to prevent is the use of Open Recent, as in I can select recently opened files from the File Menu but they won't open...

The file simply doesn't open when using File > Open Recent and selecting the file in the list of recently opened files...

No error messages? It simply ignores the click?

Exactly that...

If I edit the Info.plist file so it shows the incomplete version number, i.e., back to 1769 instead of 2.1.0.1769 then all works correctly again...

The issue "StudioLink fails to work on macOS" (REF: AFB-7653) has been fixed by the developers in internal build "2.1.0.1781".
This fix should soon be available as a customer beta and is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Serif Info Bot to notify us.
