Gnobelix got a reaction from Rick G in Recoloring changes when painting a mask
I will observe this problem, because I do a lot with recolor.
If there are similar problems, I will report
Remains to hoping, it was a user error.

Gnobelix got a reaction from Rick G in Recoloring changes when painting a mask
Hello Rick,
I can, your problem does not really understand
I suspect, that you a layer have inadvertently changed or accidentally deleted.
I can not imagine anything else.
I have in your picture, a new adjustment level added, and there are no problems with the processing.
Best Regards

Gnobelix reacted to IndigoMoon in Shadows & Highlights in Raw
Hey, the new Shadows & Highlights in the latest Mac Beta is already highly discussed in the social media and the feedback is very positive!
Especially the new shadows recovery works absolutely great now and get a fantastic review. Well, the highlights recovery is better now as well, but still potential for improvements.
Can't await to check it out on my Windows machine....

We'll soon be testing out a new Shadows and Highlights algorithm in Develop (1.6.2). We are still looking at Develop, it's just that's one of the most complicated areas of the program, so changes are slower to implement.

Gnobelix reacted to Hofnaar in Affinity Photo Customer Beta - 1.6.1.92
Im near always happy with AP and AD. The Workflow is great, the programms are stable for hours of work per day and I made many artworks and prints for my clients this year with it.
I think you all affinity guys make and made a great job with it.
But, sorry to bother again, is the RAW Development Persona still on your to do list? Or is it the hated little child in AP? There are no changes within the last Betas for editing or loading RAW Files and other important functions like preset management, highlight and shadow recovery and many more. Im looking forward to finally see some steps there in the next Betas.

Gnobelix reacted to Hokusai in The Four Horsemen
Just another drawing similar to the Don Quixote drawing that I posted recently but it is much simpler. This is a drawing that I had done probably not long after Designer was released and I forgot that I'd done it. I used this picture as my first real project to get myself used to using Designer. I am a big fan of Albrecht Dürer and I hope that you enjoy it. I've included the outlines as well.

Utpal,
Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums.
Not to worry, if you email affinity@serif.com telling them/us what software you have (Photo or Designer or both) and on what platform (Mac or Windows) then we can organise the content for you, even after the offer is over as long as we are notified now. Link to this post in your email if you like

Gnobelix reacted to Hokusai in Don Quixote Redo
I've been posting on the forum here since Designer was released in 2014 but I've never posted anything of my own in the "Share your work". I'm always impressed by what others post and it inspired me to post something of my own. I chose this picture because it was so complex and it was overwhelming the amount of objects that I had to draw but I used it as a test to see how far Designer has come and I have to say that it has come a long ways since it was first released. Designer never quit or locked up on me and it performed beyond my expectations, especially on a project with so many boolean operations. I took an image that was done originally by the amazingly talented Gustave Doré and redid it completely in vectors using Designer. I did everything "by hand" as they say, I didn't use any kind of vectorizer as I feel that the results are never good enough. I also did the whole thing with a mouse, no Wacom. Somethings had to be created from scratch as the original was damaged in places so there are actually many differences between my version and the original but I think I've been able to maintain the spirit of the original. I've included some screenshots of the outlines to give you an idea of how many different objects there are. I'd like to give a giant "Thanks!" to MattP and the other developers for all their hard work. I'm especially thankful to them for adding a "Hide/Show All" command into Designer. It helped me greatly with this picture and I look forward to seeing what they will think of next.
Thanks for letting me share.

Gnobelix reacted to dmstraker in Novel image lightening with negation blend mode and curves
Here's a novel way of lightening an image.
Start with your image. Here's my wife, making a cup of tea.
Duplicate the image. Invert the top layer.
Now change the blend mode of this to Negation. The result is all white.
Then switch to the bottom layer and add a curves adjustment. Pull right up the left hand node, then grab the middle and start pulling it down.
The picture starts to lighten. Stop when it suits you.
The effect is quite pleasing, without losing contrast or blowing out whites.

Hi Mark, '90 is really looking good on my system. I used it earlier to output artwork, photos and a catalog for a customer. All worked flawlessly. Thank you!

Gnobelix reacted to jef. in Tone Mapping Presets [FREE]
I have made 10 free tone mapping presets. I have not seen any tone mapping presets for affinity photo so I made some for anybody who might want them. Of course they will not all work with every photo like all presets but I hope someone finds them useful : ) To upload them just click on the zip. file, then in the tone mapping persona on the presets menu; click "Import Presets", Enjoy!
Thanks!
