Hi @garrettm30,
Thanks for reporting this.
I've just logged this with the Developers to resolve

stokerg reacted to MikeTO in End of story symbol should not be included in a running header
I'm seeing the same thing. A running header set to a paragraph style works fine but a running header set to a character style will draw a fake End of Story symbol and then break the line of text and continue the story. Here's a test doc and a screen recording. (EDIT: I recorded this in the beta but it's not beta specific.)

Hi @timonz3d and welcome to the forums.
Please check out this post by a Serif staff member to see if it solves the problem for you.

stokerg reacted to DonC123 in Cartoons
Recently I started a cartoon series using Affinity Designer. The cartoons are for my website blog. Affinity Designer is great for this! As I move forward I am finding some of the tools just great, like the warp tool to fit patterns and logos, etc. to my character's body. I just love how AD even has the callout tools and the cloud tool, which are ideal for this. Here are some examples of the cartoons.
Check out my April 22, 2024 blog post for the cartoon debut and a article on cartooning. I use myself as the 'model' and often make fun of my size, all in jest, like other comics and comedians do while making fun of themselves.
I am not looking for criticism.

stokerg reacted to Patrick Connor in On a point of order regarding removing my post that suggested a specific technique
We do not comment on whether ideas are accepted or rejected, otherwise everyone else posting in the suggestion forum would demand to know if their suggestions were accepted or rejected also.
No you cannot demand copies of what you wrote. Keep your own copies if that's important to you

stokerg reacted to TrentL in Frequency Separation 101 - Tutorial for Affinity Photo
Frequency Separation is a useful concept for touching up photos. But there are some foundational concepts that should be understood to make the most out of this technique. In this video, I’ll cover these concepts from the ground up.

stokerg reacted to Hangman in Cannot export what I have on my canvas with Affinity Designer
Hi @stokerg,
If you copy and paste the artwork onto a Canvas there is no longer an issue with either the export preview or the exported file so I'm not sure this is related to the Colour Dodge Blend Mode since that is present with both Artboard and Canvas though I could be completely wrong...

stokerg got a reaction from Hangman in Opening Book Chapters in the Wrong Order
Hi @Hangman,
Thanks for bringing this up.
I was pretty sure this rang a bell with me and I've just found the original bug report (AFB-5840) This was a bug logged in a very early version of Affinity V2 and was fixed. So looks like this is a regression, sadly the bug report doesn't say what the fix was, so I'll need to do a bit of digging here. Let me find out when this regressed and I'll get the issue reopened and also confirm the expected behavior

I believe it just takes time to restructure the forums for the new beta version. I consider it a sign that things are in the works.

stokerg reacted to Oufti in Affinity Publisher Export Problem
Best to do is to export first to a local drive and then transfer it to your One Drive.
Applications (not only Affinity) are not very good at saving directly to a cloud or network storage.

It will stay forever, this is the Internet after all. Don't worry about it. Someone may have the same problem as you and find this topic which will solve it for them too. So having this stay around is a good thing.

stokerg reacted to Art51 in Alita Battle Angel poster - Hand-drawn raster art
Just wanted to share a recent alternative movie poster I created for the film, Alita Battle Angel.
The poster is completely hand-drawn in Affinity Photo 2. As I've noted before, I enjoy the hand-drawn and coloured posters by the likes of Drew Struzan and contemporary artists like Paul Shipper and Kyle Lambert.
This work was completed primarily using the Natural Pencil 2B brush (the underlying sketch) and the Round Soft Brush (colouring over and clouds) with more Natural Pencil 2B coloured pencil over the top for the highlights and detail. There is some use of texture brushes such as spatters and custom dust etc. There are no fancy filters or tricks used. I treat the canvas and drawing as though I were working with real physical media and so start with a scanned 'paper' background. I use an XP Pen pen display connected to my MacBook Pro as my workstation.

stokerg got a reaction from n.k.0508 in Publisher shuts down when book exports
Hi @n.k.0508,
While I don't get a crash, exporting your afbook file does cause my Publisher to just hang. I can cancel the Export but after that, the rest of the interface just doesn't respond to my clicks.
I'll get this written up and logged with the Developers
