Spiro Posted October 1, 2019 Posted October 1, 2019 Please consider to add a new tool "French Curve" for use with pen tool, and vector brush. Something similar to the french curve on Autodesk sketchbook. It's super useful for sketching with a graphic tablet. .: NICKY G. :. and mpowell 2 Quote
Staff Patrick Connor Posted October 1, 2019 Staff Posted October 1, 2019 @Spiro Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums I love this idea, but I'm not a draughtsman so I've no feeling for how useful/popular this would be. Wosven Posted October 1, 2019 Posted October 1, 2019 You call them "French curves"? We call them "Perroquets" or "Pistolets à dessin" (drawing parrots/pistols) They are usefull to have nice curves and avoid bad angles when trying to join curves. Spiro 1 Quote
Fixx Posted October 1, 2019 Posted October 1, 2019 Known as parrots here... used them when we drafted with ink pens and vellum.. :-D I suppose there may be some computer equivalent fitting commands but probably no direct application. Quote
Spiro Posted October 1, 2019 Author Posted October 1, 2019 (edited) For me is "pistolete" (the spanish word, at least in Argentina), I was trying to be more "international" (?) Edited October 1, 2019 by Spiro Friksel 1 Quote

Nakos Posted December 18, 2021 Posted December 18, 2021 I'd also like to see something similar to this. Even something as simple as a tool like the Crescent shape, only with an S shaped curve instead of a C shaped curve. Quote
elguapo Posted December 19, 2021 Posted December 19, 2021 Loved them too in Autodesk but normal smoothing setting inside Brush solves this problem automatically for sketching. And for vector we have all tools we have. Quote
