How can I stop APhoto v1 "New Version Available" popup?

Every time I launch Affinity Photo v1 my workflow is interupted by a popup about a new version?

How can I stop this popup?

Are you running 1.10.6 (the current version) or 1.10.5 (the most recent prior version) or something older?

If you're not on 1.10.6, perhaps you should install it? That would stop the reminders.

1.10.5.1342 is what I am running. Is there a compeling reason to load 1.10.6?

It depends on if less bugs are a compelling reason for you. Why shouldn't you load this update? It only takes some minutes.

I have set the update check to "Never" … and don't get the inviting pop-ups*.

[ *which enables me to use the screen space under the masking tape exclusively to cover the typical Affinity error messages when saving documents. 😎 ]

If you really must and are confident, edit the registry

Go to 
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Serif\Affinity\Photo\1

Find
No Update Check

change value to 1

Yes, it fixes a few critical bugs that causes the app to crash

Crashing means lost work

You are strongly advised to install it before you encounter one of those crashes

"Affinity Designer, Affinity Photo and Affinity Publisher (on macOS, Windows, and iOS) had all recently been affected by recent operating system releases such as the launch of macOS Ventura, iOS 16 and Windows 10 and 11 updates. We have mitigated some of these in the 1.10.6 patches of all applications on all platforms. The changes fix/avoid the problems introduced by operating system changes thus returning earlier functionality.
