    Thumbnails

I'd love to share these original Affinity Designer files to get these images in the Samples that load up every time I boot up Affinity Designer. I really think that my artwork could help people see the commercial value that Affinity Designer has.
  2. When browsing project files in Finder (macOS) I noticed that the same project as a .psd will preview a high-res thumbnail of the artboard but if the project is saved as .afdesign there is a low-res thumbnail. I was curious if anyone else noticed or has this behavior. If possible, I think it'd be great if Affinity would save higher-res thumbnails of the project file to make browsing in Finder a little more useful. I included screenshots to show the difference.
  3. When an affinity file, photo or designer, is inside an Ondrive folder it doesn´t display the thumbnail icon into windows explorer.
  4. I am trying to use as less files as possible for comic projects using the same pages (digital/print editions, reprints, trade paperbacks, revised editions, etc.), and I think one of the ways to do this would be to have the option of grouping Page thumbnails into folders, and having a check box beside each page and folder. This way, we could just check the pages to export in a project before exporting it to PDF for example. Would it be possible to have such an option in Affinity Publisher?
  5. Hi, Infinity Photo lacks an option to change the size of the Layer Thumbnail images. This has always been an odd omission, the point of the thumbnails is being able to see at a glance what layer you are working on and what it contains. When I worked on a 1920x1080 resolution monitor it was manageable to a degree - but still frustrating, but now I have a more professional sized resolution monitor at 2560x1440, the thumbnails are so tiny, they may as well not be there. Can we please have an option to enlarge the thumbnails like Photoshop/Gimp etc has. Thanks, Jay.
  6. Please Serefteam, create in AP the Option to Change the layer thumbnailsize larger. Regards Armin
  7. When manipulating a layer mask by using the paint brush tool or even simply inverting it, the corresponding layer icon/thumbnail in the layer stack does not update.
  8. The layer thumbnail previews in the layer panel are often blank (just a black square) and do not refresh or update. This happens under many circumstances including… when creating new objects opening an existing file reorganizing existing objects As you might imagine this makes working with any project of significant complexity very difficult. Sometimes the thumbnails can be forced to refresh by zooming the view, but other times this doesn't work. Usually switching to a different document in a second tab, and then returning to the original file forces a refresh.
  9. Hi, I've just upgraded to a larger resolution monitor (2560x1440), which is great, but one issue with Affinity Photo is that there is no obvious way to enlarge the Layer thumbnail size like you would in Photoshop, or other image editing software. On a high resolution monitor the thumbnails are so small, they are pretty pointless. You just can't see what you're working on. Am I missing something, or is has it not been implemented yet? The screenshot I've included is scaled down for a 1080 Full HD display so you can see the problem if you have a smaller monitor resolution. Thanks, Jay.
  10. As we see more and more user switch to Affinity products, we would like to be able to create Thumbnails and Previews using an automated server process. For most image formats our system uses ImageMagick. Is there any solution? Not necessarily ImageMagick.
  11. Windows 10, 64-bit When I create an .afphoto file from scratch and save it, I can see a preview for it in Windows Explorer. Preview tab also works. When I import a NEF file, develop it and save it, no thumbnail is displayed in Windows Explorer (just a large afphoto icon). Preview tab fails to display anything. I checked and it seems that the thumbnail handler installed by your product does not work correct in all cases.

  13. As my laptop won't display RAW files, I run every new set of photos through a batch job to create jpeg thumbnails at 600 pixels wide. Because there's no tweaking done in development, I sometimes get some sad-looking results; fortunately, the RAW file will usually turn out OK with a bit of fiddling about. (Sorry -- that's a disrespectful way to describe the amazing capabilities of Affinity Photo! I mean, with some carefully considered image manipulation :)) So here's a very under-exposed photo of a toucan, shot against a very bright sky. If I'd still been shooting in jpg, I'd have been very disappointed: there's very little room for improvement. Now here's the fidd manipulated version. I resized it to 800 px to post on Facebook; I'll do it full size for my portfolio ... but not today.
  14. Create a circle. Create a new layer (Layer 1). Drag the circle into Layer 1 The thumbnail updates correctly. Drag the circle back out of Layer 1. Create another new layer (Layer 2), and nest it inside Layer 1. Drag the circle into Layer 2 The thumbnail updates correctly. Drag the circle into Layer 1 The thumbnail updates correctly. Drag the circle back out of Layer 1 The thumbnail updates correctly. Drag the circle back into Layer 1The thumbnail is blank - incorrect!
  15. Would it be possible to have a preview or a thumbnail when we are looking at file in the media browser. Currently we only see a grey boxe and we have to open each file to know what it is...which is really not user friendly if i want to color correct raw file
  16. In the Affinity Designer, the Media browser is a great tool but not so great. There should be 3 more features. 1. Add custom folders by clicking any [+] sign, instead of only dragging folders into it. 2. The folders in thumbnail section are not clickable. only tree expanding is possible to access content inside of folder. Please make folders click able and add [back] and [up] buttons too. (I'm sure you understand what i mean) 3. Also add a small option of sort by [name],,[date],[type] etc. There is a bug too.. If we right click on Folders' thumbnail. we see two options. "open" and "view in finder". That Open only blanks the thumbnail view B)

  18. Hi, I am looking for a way to have .psd files show thumbnails in Windows Explorer, just like .bmp, .png files etc. do by default (in the Extra large / large / medium icons views) . Is this possible from within Photo, or through a plugin (even a Photoshop one) or through any other app, may be? Thanks.
  19. I find the thumbnails in the layers palette very useful. However, the thumbnails in Affinity present a number of difficulties for me. The idea of using a different background colour for image and mask or adjustment is a good one, but the black background can be a real visibility problem when working with dark objects. With a pale grey this might work better. Obviously any colour is going to conflict with some layer content but I find the black very hard to read indeed. The thumbnails are quite modest and in the case of masks, adjustments etc. are also occupied by a quite large and very distracting function icon making the contents very hard to read sometimes. Could these icons be made much, much more discreet or, even better, moved outside the thumbnail and placed immediately beside it, before the name and description? I think this would be a huge improvement in legibility. In an ideal world I would love to see a palette option that allows us a choice of thumbnail sizes.
  20. I figured I would ask here to make sure someone else can search to find an updated answer. I don't care to see the brush pattern, most of my brushes I just click as a stamp. I have about 300 bruise. Any way to see them like PS and also change between Small and Large. thanks
