+1 on this! While this may be the standard; and I too understanding the non-destructive paradigm, I also expect my software application to do this for me. I'm sure there is truth and reason to Wosven's response.
I've tried figuring out how to essentially reproduce what the rasterize and trim option on the layers context menu does, except without the rasterization, for the past two days. I've tried several alternative vector design applications without success, although finding Affinity Designer has made cleaning up a 65pg file manually a bit more friendly for me.
While the feature isn't the standard today, there is a need. People wanting perfect precision lines when using .svg files for autocad. (Okay, so I'm really using it to convert PDF sewing patterns to SVG because that's what Cricut will allow me to upload to be printed/cut/etc in their elementary Design Space software.)
Somebody: we. need. this. Please. There are many sewists [and small business owners who use multiple Cricut machines routinely] who've evolved to digital patterns, and many of them understand the importance of using svg vs. png for scalability, clean lines for precision cutting, et. cetera. Sadly an axe won't suffice here.
Thanks,
Walt
