  1. Hi, Does anyone know if Affinity will have the support for the Wacom Bamboo Sketch stylus on the ipad in the near future? I'm currently using the apple pencil but it feels like I'm scratching on wood with it. There's only a handful of apps that support the Bamboo Sketch I was hoping Affinity would soon have the support as well. Or am I barking up the wrong tree, is it Wacom I should be approaching for this?
  2. This is a great App and I just wanted to help out with a small observation. I'm a digital artist and I use a Wacom tablet for drawing digitally. I noticed (running on an iMac) that there is a small, roughly 0.2 second delay on the time between the wacom pen stroke pressure and the application of pixels in all the brushes. Basically, when you draw, the line is appearing late. It makes it very hard to sketch anything in detail. I have the brush width settings very low, in order to mimic a real pencil width. I love the paint blend tool, a great feature, and 'paint select' is excellent, a great idea. My best, Ed
  3. Hi Guys Simple question I guess, will a Wacom stylus work with Affinity Photo on the iPad Air 2? I don't use the iPad very much as I am mainly a web designer but I do own one and a Wacom pen and I would like to buy the software but obviously only if it works with the set up I have. If the pen works at even a basic level then thats fine, I just can't see myself masking pictures with my fingers. I can't warrant buying a iPad Pro as I only use it occasionally to test websites and other bits but I'd like to support this software if I can at least have a play with it with what I have. Thanks in advance for your help. Cheers Gary
  4. When using Curves adjustment there is no realtime update. The pen has to be lifted before the image updates to show the effect an adjustment has had.
  5. Installed and did some basic things withthe new 1.6.0.71 beta. Simple steps to reproduce on my system 1. open a file or a blank document 2. select brush 3. select forground colour (e.g. red) 4. Paint using wacom pen 5. nothing happens. Using the mouse however it's fine. All these steps work fine in the latest 1.5.2.69 In addition when I activate Stabilizer I have no choice to deactivate due to an unvisible cursor. I know it's a very early beta but why is the basic funcionality not more careful tested before making the version available (even on betas the basics functions should work) OS win10 x64 Wacom latest drivers (previous driver had been uninstalled before installing the new Wacom driver) regards klaus
  6. Hello, AP 1.5.2.66 (Beta) crash on Windows with Wacom Tablett, Bamboo Driver V5.3.0-3. First: - Manualy uninstall the previous beta (in system control) - Install AP Beta 1.5.2.66 -> (no error messages) --- 1. Start AP Beta (First: Wacom Pencil moves normally) 2. Create new Picture or open an existing picture (does not matter) 3. Center the picture with the hand tool -> Movement with a tremble effect 4. Select the brush tool and move brush on canvas Result: The brush tip moves in a different place on the picture -> then AP crash immediatly. I hope I could help. Pinnochio
  7. I am looking to upgrade a really really old Wacom Graphire 2 tablet, but I would like a tablet that would allow me to have the most functionality and options in the brush settings. In other words I want all the whistles--tilt, rotation support, if possible!
  8. Having issues with the brushes and my intuos wacom tablet. the curves come out choppy, and the flow of the brush on screen its weird. don't want to compare but I've tried other softwares for drawing and the tablet works fine.
  9. I ordered a slightly used Wacom Intuos5 touch Small Tablet with pen, cable and wireless kit for $140 from a graduating Arts student. Does it sound like a good buy? Being a lefty I noticed Wacom's tablets can be flipped around and software switched. I know Huion has handedness settings but I still don't fancy rotating the tablet and have the labels upside down. My only concern is whether it will lag on wireless with AD or APh? I recall reading somewhere that USB cable is preferred. Can you advise me. Have Affinity staff got inhouse experience with this model (PTH-451) Thanks Michael
  10. For Affinity Photo (maybe also on Designer) i use Photo with a Wacom tablet. My Problem ist: i have no Crosshair when i use "Paint Brush" ("Always show Brush Crosshair" is ON). I only see the Contour (without the a CrossHair in it) but this is not exactly enough for me. Sometimes i have the WindowsCursor instead the Brushoutline.... Can you fix this, because this is a "no go" for me i must return to evil Ph*** ;-) Thanks ps. by the way now, when i start a new Document i have the Crosshair! (when i use Paint Brush) In the Moment i open an old Document the Crosshair disapeard an the outline is there ... or sometimes the Cursor from Windows!!
  11. Hi, I am using affinity photo on windows and occasionally use pen input. I would appreciate the option to only draw with the pen, not by accidentally touching the screen with a single finger (or by palm rejection not working at that particular moment, or by simply forgetting what happens when you use a finger while drawing with a pen). If that option is enabled (maybe only when a brush is actually the current tool), a little button next to the pressure sensitivity button could enable/disable that behavior. And then, maybe finger input could automatically be something else, like moving and selecting objects. Best
  12. I got Affinity Designer at Christmas last month, and at first just played around to understand the program but I am now starting to do projects. With my small wacom tablet, I drew the two characters who are from the popular video game Overwatch. The robotic looking one is known as Zenyatta, a robot monk. The other is Reaper, a man who died then revived. The 3rd has nothing to do with Overwatch. Just some random thing I felt like making. Supposed to a underwater creature. Hope you like my work :) please keep in mind I just started.
  13. I know graphics tablets questions have been asked a heap of times but looking at buying one for a project I have coming in February so need to know I'm getting kit that works first time. So my question is this: Will budget graphics display tablets such as XP-Pen 10 or Parblo Coast10 work and play well with Affinity software, or are they a disaster? Ive heard drivers can be tricky. I would like the Wacom Cintig 13HD but £600 is a lot of money to pay out in a very skint January.
  14. Sorry but this is important to me. I know this feature has been requested before. But I have a reason to repeat this: I love Affinity Designer. Except for its lack of brush smoothing that drives me crazy. Meaning: when drawing w/ a Wacom tablet, the strokes are all wiggly and wobbly. Can we fix this? I'm willing to do whatever it takes, so that people around the world using your product can have this feature. Hire me for $10/month to do this. Autodesk Graphic (formerly iDraw) has it. Illustrator has it. Functioning brush tool is quite basic feature of a vector drawing program. I know you have priorities. I know you can't do everything at once. I know you have an existing feature roadmap. But this feature has been requested time after time, starting from 2014. Please get it done. Again, if I need to work on it for free or for a coffee, I'm ready to do it. Let's get this done. I'm 100% serious. Contact me anytime, and I'll jump working on this on a 24 hours notice. You have help. You have demand for this feature – guys, it's time. Let's get this feature on Affinity Designer. Waiting for your reply.
  15. As some of you might know, there are new Wacom products since very recently: Mainly, the new "cintiq pro" in the new sizes (cleverly adding 16 inches) as well as -probably same tablet technology, Studio pro also in 13 and 16 inches. All these seem to share a very much improved pen technology, probably improvements in the tablet, too. Does any one know if they are going to be releasing soon the tablets ( the Intuos and Intuos Pro series, I mean) that apply all this tracking, accuracy !, pressure (I mean...8k pressure levels... noooone is goona ever notice/use it, but hey) and painting improvements ?... I was able to find a pic.... ....and someone mentioning have seen it listed for a moment on Amazon (pic supposedly downloaded from there. Yet though, fakes are everywhere. I mean, not in Amazon, just the whole story might be invented, people get fun making those. I saw recently one done even in video by a CGI 3D artist (very well done) . So, this could be just a fake.) That said, it'd be more than logical that they'd apply soon all that accuracy at least to Intuos Pro models. I'm progressively realizing more that the cintiq or cintiq alternatives are not so much for me, not only for the purchase price and the cost of replacing if you break it (which worries me way more than initial prices, specially if get too used to cintiq style), also because of my long habit drawing in intuos, and almost very certain that drawing over a cintiq would be way worse for my back and my eyesight (specially as, opposite to Cintiq, the alternatives are ALL *very* glossy screens, not only bad for the eyes, also leads to inaccuracy when painting and checking colors. I fail to understand why even a cheap -ain't cheap, is 600 bucks, yeah , way cheaper than cintiq, but still quite some money.- product for art making is having a glossy screen (and to be honest, we should mention this stupidity for art tools is also present in the iPad PROs (which is quite a sad fact for me, as I love that ipad.) , or the new MS Studio, which also comes with the jitter problem ! A pity, as is a sort of mid-high end monitor.). As indeed, not so much about money with the cintiq alternatives, and intuos Large is not specially cheap, is just that in the end seems better for some of us, despite being less accurate and fast than a tablet-monitor. So, am quite interested in knowing if the medium and large models are soon to be released, using these new technology improvements.
  16. My Wacom Bamboo Pen and Touch doesn't work with Photo. When I've choosen a tool I can use it to work with it but if I tip on another tool the click isn't accepted. So I've to use the mouse to choose another tool and then I can take the Pen again to work with it. Not very useful. I've installed the latest driver for the Tablet but i doesn't work well.
  17. I searched for this but didn't find anything. I usually use a standard brush tip for the eraser when using my Wacom tablet with Affinity Paint. The drawing end will vary, but usually I don't like using something like texture or effects for the eraser. It would be nice if the eraser wouldn't change to match the drawing tip, but remained the same when switching back and forth.
  18. Hello, I've been using Affinity Designer since the first beta and I'm thrilled. I work with both mouse and graphics tablet. What I noticed is that the mouse, when I use it, the respective tools synonymous with the cursor is displayed. If I use the graphics tablet, however, the cursor, no matter which tool I use, always remains the simple arrow. Now my question: Will Affinity Designer also be adapted to the use of graphics tablets? I apologize for my bad English. Greetings from Vienna Alexandra
  19. I am using a Bamboo Pad (model CTH-301) for photo editing. Whenever I just get my stylus near the tablet and this one starts reacting, Affinity Photo crashes.
  20. I started trying out the affinity photo beta. I'm impressed and I will surely buy this great product when it leave the beta stage. I noticed bug when i try to paint witch my Wacom Intuos CTH-480 tablet. Affinity Photo doesn't recognize pressure at all. I have tried using pressure settings in brush panel but without any effect. My wacom driver version 6.3.17-3. System win7 64bit.
  21. Hey guys, would be awesome to have full support of my wacom intous pro's touchwheel; I can't get the Cycle Layers mode to work in AP; I'm thinking that Wacom uses keyboard equivalents for it's touchwheel, but in Affinity there is no Cycle Layers (Select Previous/Next Layer command) equivalent. It would be great to have these keyboard shortcuts in an upcoming Beta :) Thanks for all you do!
  22. Hi! I have problem with One by Wacom and sliders. When I use mouse, sliders react correct, but when I use tablet's pen, about one second delay appear. Look at the video. In the Affinity Designer it is also the same problem. Sławek
  23. I just wanted to underline that I usually use a graphic tablet when I design but when I tried to use it whit the Affinity Designer Beta for Windows I realized that it doesn't recognize the pressure I use on each one of the lines I make so that every of them have the same thickness as if I were using a mouse. Also, it seems difficult for the program to register my moves with the wacom as it gets freeze, slow and frequently changes the direction of the drawing I wanted.
  24. Hey guys! I am very new to graphic design so you'll have to excuse my lack of knowledge. I recently purchased Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer for my Mac. I am trying to find the best solution to being able to draw basic sketches and diagrams. I don't need to be able to draw anything with great detail or very artistic. I have an iPad 4th generation (so not a Pro) and I am wondering if there is an app I get use to be able to draw on my iPad to interact with Affinity Photo or Designer. Another option I have been exploring is buying a Wacom. What advice can you give me as to whether I would be better off using my iPad with a specific stylus or purchasing a Wacom. What are my options? Thank you!
