  1. I am a cat lover and am intrigued by their intelligence and accurate speed of motion, which is what radiates from this image, even if it nears a still image. Well done. Kudos!
  2. The likeness of the portrait is excellent, since portraits require meticulous positioning, shaping and carefull use of accents to preserve it. It probably wasn't your intention to draw a photo realistic portrait, but with some minor adjustments you could transform this portrait into one by using Designer's great Gaussian Blur function.
  3. Very good! Composition and palette obviously required meticulous consideration.
  4. Solving cryptograms requires a specific mindset, that commonly is rarely used in every day life. Creating them, can be even more of a challenge. And attempting to visualizie them can be even worse.... In view of all that - great job!
  5. The problem with logos that target a specific subject, that is diverse in nature, it is difficult to select one that is covers them all. There are all sorts of angles from which peers imagine it and review it. The same goes for visitors on which the logo is used. Simple assignments can appear to be more difficult to draw than things may seem at first glance.
  6. Most excellent. Composition - expression and detail - and depth of field make the image look great.
  7. A 100% vector yin and yang like graphical image of two fish, created entirely in Affinity Designer, that depicts both separation and attachment.
  8. I used fx 3D (at the bottom of the Layers panel) with multiple Light sources by using the 'Add' dropdown menu, mainly the Direction function and the Diffuse, Specular and Shininess functions, while tinkering with almost all other functions in the dialog. The main group consists of sub groups, some of which I assigned its own 3D fx. I also used the Curves and HSL Shift adjustments to achieve the effects that I aimed for, which took quite some time. I applied a complex linear fountain fill with various colours to the main group and clipped light and dark curves into the main group to suggest highlights and shadows. It may seem far out to some, but I always adjust function values to those that comply with Marco Rodin's Vortex Math system (https://www.virtuescience.com/enneagram.html) that reflect aspects of deeper layers of reality, that commonly are scarcely explored. What I do basically is endless fiddling with a certain aim in mind. not just creating artwork with random impulse. Regardless of the fact if people are aware of this or not, it affects their subconscious.
  9. Chinese zodiac dragon created in Affinity Designer. Vector wire frame screen dump.
  10. Hypnotizing the cat.

  11. Although I work in vectors most of the time sometimes I indulge in creating pixel art. This portrait of Danny Trejo started out as an analog airbrush (with real paint on real paper) that I reworked digitally two years later, using some of the standard brushes that come with the program (among other techniques).
  12. That is what I do often - walk away and come back later (sometimes years after) - to re-edit a piece. I find myself wondering: Did I do that? or How on earth could I have missed that? As a result I mess up even worse, but most of the time the artwork improves.
  13. A proto lockdown urban scene. Nicely done.
  14. Shrooms are the above ground, visible representatives of a worldwide biological subterranean internet. Palette and composition are great. Beautifully done!
  15. Superb editing. I find the atmosphere you particularly put in the top two images magnificent.
  16. Obviously the architecture required you to use many skills / functions. Which you did excellently.
  17. Not bad at all for a first attempt, but perhaps you can use the advice given by dannyg9, although I must say the original does require a heap of editing to reconstruct realism.
  18. Yesterday I saw two crows chasing a falcon. The latter did not flee, but was just trying to out manoeuvre the crows in a restricted area in which the aerial pursuit took place. It was fascinating to watch. I guess such events take place anywhere in the skies above this planet.
  19. Great work, inspired by the intriguing First Nation culture, that includes many aspects totally unknown by the current ignorant consumer culture. I got flashbacks of Howard Terpning's 'Blood Man' painting watching the image on the top. Your communication with First Nation residents must have been an enriching experience, which shows in your artwork.
  20. Great resume / life story, you shared. I like the spectacular, complex art you create with these brushes. Kudos!
  21. Nice presentation. Did you tattoo the girl in the photo yourself? I really like the portrait of the bloke on her hip.
  22. Mr. Bean vector cartoon drawn in Affinity Designer. More info in my portfolio blog: https://communicats.blogspot.com/2022/05/vector-cartoon-mr-bean.html
  23. This was an exercise to create (graphic) more or less realistic vector artwork in Affinity Designer, that is capable of creating organic shapes (curves and strokes). Below the rendered version is the vector outline view image. More info in my portfolio blog: https://communicats.blogspot.com/2022/04/vector-butterfly.html
