Hello, I need a character table for grabbing any single charakter to place in my text, e.g. a *bullet*  --  Please don´t forget :-)

Saving a document as an PSD file, AP does not save my text as editable text, when I open it with Photoshop, A-D also does it not too. Have I overlooked anything or A-P and A-D can´t do this ??
 
Trying the same document with A-D using "export", A-D, when I´ve choosed to save *PSD*, A-D does not show me that I want to save a PS-document, but it shows *AFFINITY document only ...
 
Any wrong with that, i´ve installed the newest customer-beta...

As Affinity Photo has been released for Windows today, the beta has been removed as it's the same build as the public release.

Currently Affinity apps don't export text as native PSD text (editable). This will be added later in a future version.
Regarding the extension I believe it was already logged and fixed but i may be wrong...  I will check it out on my system.

You need the purchased version to be able to use the customer beta. However they are installed separately as they are beta versions so can be less stable than a release version and not always suitable for production use.
 
Therefore if you still wish to use the release you can, but also use the beta on the same PC at the same time.

Thanks for your comments. I have to say that making a clone of InDesign is not our goal; we have our own vision. Also, our plan is to release Publisher as soon as it has enough to be useful to someone. We won't wait until it can do everything InDesign can do and more. As a result, you can expect the first version to be quite basic. In the same way that Designer is still missing things like arrow heads which are crucial to some people, Publisher will be missing features that some of you will need. I don't want you to think we are already sitting on a basic Publisher and not releasing it because we want to add more advanced features first.
 
Publisher is delayed simply because it is taking us longer than we expected. I can't say too much about what we have and haven't done, but here's an example: text styles are a crucial Publisher feature, and the reason they are in Designer 1.5 and not earlier is because they weren't developed earlier. In general, when we have a Publisher feature complete that we think also belongs in Designer, we'll include it in Designer as soon as it is ready. (The caveat is that there are some features we know you'd like to see in Designer, that we don't think belong in it.)
 
I'm sorry it is taking so long, and I'm especially sorry that our past timelines for Publisher were so wildly optimistic. Our original vision of three apps all sharing a file format and a common way of working, was something we were very excited about. That exuberance spilled into some fairly delirious announced schedules. We will get there. We're still excited about the vision and determined to bring it about, just as soon as we can.

I've just done some analysis on our startup time, and I can see some areas which could be improved. I might not have time to fix them before release, but I will do it at some point. In theory it should make it over twice as fast to start up...

You have 2 types of fonts artistic and frame, but both don't make the fonts borders box tight around the font 
as in attachment so I can't align as example bottom edge of font to something else cause the alignment will
be for the box not the text got my point ?

You can set the Pen Tool so it only draws lines: click the Line Mode button (fourth icon) in the Mode section in context toolbar when you have the Pen Tool selected.

It would be alot easier to say it is a feature, but it looks like a bug to me! If you have the colour tab visible at the same time you can see it change as soon as the width reaches 0. I'd expect it to remember the colour that was set even if the width is 0. It also behaves this way on the mac version.

Coming from another software package I take this for granted--as well as using any object placed on its guideline layer as a guideline.
 
Currently I am just seeing how the AD Windows beta is doing. Adding this capability at some point would be good.

There will be a public Beta of Affinity Photo for Windows too (after Designer's release).

Currently we support soft hyphens (also known as discretionary hyphens). In other words, you can add hyphenation points manually and they'll be used where appropriate. Support for auto hyphenation will be added in due course (Publisher will certainly need it).
