You guys should’ve taken a more aggressive business model and went iPad first. If publisher was on the iPad, I could close my creative cloud account and work exclusively on the iPad along with using Designer, and Photo.. You guys could be first to have the big three for iPad!!!!! I don’t care about brands... I don’t care about exclusive features... I want what can deliver me the most convient experience and using the iPad, hardly feels like I’m working... It makes work fun!

Publisher on the iPad would be an instant purchase here as well. The iPad Pro is my platform for Graphic Design.

I actually want publisher for the iPad more than anything as there is no dtp package for an iPad. Please consider it. Definite purchase here!

Sorry, by a toggle button I meant a button that stays on the screen (like the snapping toggle button lower left side), so the grid can be quickly toggle off and on.
In general, it would be great to be able to customize what tools have dedicated on screen buttons.

    Hi,

Could you please consider adding hex code support for color in Affinity Photo for iPad. I’m a web designer and hex codes would help add AP iPad to my work flow on iPad. Thanks for your consideration.

    Thx,

I’m not sure if this is the best place to post/request still, but i’m now trying to get work done on iPad, and not having any Hex pallet or way to enter a hex colour value is a real pain!
If we can enter RGB values, please can we have hex on iPad too?

    Hey Chris,
Good news. No issues with the latest Photo beta. Realised the document has changed a lot since then, so tried again by...
Creating the new document with a text field in Designer beta 1.7.0.9 Opened this document in the latest Photo beta and no text refresh issue. Likely was just an issue with the earlier Photo beta. Will let you know if I see it again Chris.

SageBlue got a reaction from Patrick Connor in iPadOS external display support
    Hi Serif,
One thing I like in iOS 12, is better external display support. This can help with Affinity Photo as well.
When using AirPlay mirroring, an app that makes use of iOS 12’s external display support can display the entire canvas on the external display while working normally on the iPad independently. I use my 4K HDR TV which is fantastic. No palettes will display on the TV/external display as Apple is yet to make a touchscreen external display.
While in this mode and using artboards (or spreads when Publisher comes), maybe have a gesture to move between the artboards or spreads on the External display.
I already find it useful to see the whole picture on the external display, while working zoomed in for more detail on the iPad.
Hope this sounds good to the team.

SageBlue got a reaction from Alfred in Shapes and nodes
Yep, these issues are really inconsistent. Sometimes zooming in or out helps. A lot of times, nothing seems to help.
Even when unable to select multiple nodes of a shape, I was able to seconds later a couple of times. I’ve restarted the iPad Pro just yesterday.

SageBlue got a reaction from Patrick Connor in 1.7.0.7 Corner tool - correct radius value not showing
    Hi team,
Letting you know when using the corner tool, the correct radius value does not show (in context bar) for the corner nodes that are selected. The radius value always starts at 0.0px, regardless of the value I’ve set to each node previously.

SageBlue got a reaction from Patrick Connor in 1.7.0.7 Drag & drop document from Files not working
I tried this for consistency with Affinity Photo beta and convenience. While I can drag documents from the Apple files manager into Affinity Photo beta, and it appears on the app homepage, I cannot do this in Affinity Designer beta.I can drag the document as usual, even the plus sign appears by the document when above Affinity Designer beta. The document doesn’t appear in Designer beta when I let go of the document.

SageBlue got a reaction from Patrick Connor in 1.7.0.7 Canvas jumping & Transforming positions
    Hi team,
letting you know while switching studios and going back to canvas, all one finger taps, sometimes the canvas skips (not smoothly) say to the right a fair way, down, etc. It seems random as this doesn’t happen most of the time.
When using the Transition studio e.g. sliding the Y-axis position to move the selected object up, letting go of the control sometimes results in the object reversing part of the way down, closer to where it originally was. Designer v1.6 is stable and consistent in moving objects.
  16. Thanks
SageBlue got a reaction from Patrick Connor in 1.7.0.7 Canvas jumping & Transforming positions
In case it matters, using the Apple Pencil to use the Y-axis control to move the object up, instead of finger sometimes. This can result in moving the object, along with a transparent duplicate of the object appearing say, 30-50 pixels below the real one. This transparent object moves along with the real one. When done moving the real object and letting go of the control, the transparent object disappears.

I have removed build 1.7.0.5 from the beta testing group, as it seems to have been meant to be internal users only to test the upgrade path.#
Sorry to anyone who had already installed this version, PM me before you reinstall the iPad Store version as I do not want you to lose any files, and I will see what can be done.

SageBlue reacted to DM1 in 1.7.0.4 beta Power Duplicate functionality
While not strictly a bug, the Power Duplicate function is very awkward, verging on unusable.
Is their a way that the Duplicate command could be pinned? Power duplication around a rotation target is cumbersome, having to reopen the Edit Menu and find Duplicate every time! Possibly pin it above the Deselect icon on bottom left of screen. Or better still add a 'Power Duplicate' menu command that stays active when selected until it is reselected. Eg. Tap Power Duplicate in menu to turn on, tap screen repeatedly to copy, eg 3 taps 3 copies, then tap Power Duplicate in menu to turn it off again.

Even adding ‘Duplicate’ to the long-press menu would be an improvement, but I like the idea of a pinned or persistent option.

I do hope the RC for V1.7 Designer follows the lead that Photo has in getting rid of these unlabelled icons, they are so small it’s hard to differentiate them. I do like how photo beta now labels them.

SageBlue got a reaction from Patrick Connor in Fill tool nodes issue [RC1]
    Hi team,
Letting you know that dragging the nodes can be difficult with the Apple Pencil e.g. when the node disappears while dragging, also often very slow to process the movement of the node.
Also while moving the nodes, the nodes get assigned their own colour as the colour picker activates quickly after pressing the node to drag. Perhaps time the colour picker not to activate as quickly.
After using the fill tool, doing selections with the Move tool can freeze a lot, even not work. Undo does not process. This is on the current 12.9” iPad Pro.
Hope you had a good weekend.
