MickRose Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 A few days ago I posted that Live Filters get ignored when making a PDF or printing directly. I assume this is a bug & I'm just wondering if any moderators have logged it. Windows 10 Pro, I5 3.3G PC 16G RAM
Fantomasas Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 If you don't select to rasterize them in PDF settings, they will not export.
MickRose Posted July 26, 2019 Author Posted July 26, 2019 I have ticked "Rasterise everything" but they still don't export to PDF. Windows 10 Pro, I5 3.3G PC 16G RAM
Joachim_L Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 Simple export with Live Filters is not possible. You have to "manually" rasterise the layer with the Live Filter before the export. Not what I expected from non-destructive working when you have to rasterise the layer. ------ Windows 10 | i5-8500 CPU | Intel UHD 630 Graphics | 32 GB RAM | Latest Retail and Beta versions of complete Affinity range installed
MickRose Posted July 26, 2019 Author Posted July 26, 2019 I suppose you could duplicate the live filter layer and hide the copy before rasterising and exporting so at least you have something to work with if changes are needed. As you say, it's not ideal. Windows 10 Pro, I5 3.3G PC 16G RAM
MickRose Posted July 26, 2019 Author Posted July 26, 2019 One of the Affinity video tutorials deals specifically with Live Filters using the Photo persona in Publisher. If this really doesn't work properly I wonder if this tutorial would be best removed. Jowday 1 Windows 10 Pro, I5 3.3G PC 16G RAM
Jowday Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 Aha, so if whatever you are working on, @MickRose , is a work in progress, and you want to make a PDF preview of your work so far, or send it to someone for feedback/review, you have to rasterize etc. etc.? I too would expect rasterize everything would rasterize... well, everything. Why would I like the PDF to look... like something else... "Benny, rasterize everything." In the Export dialog click on the More... tab and set Rasterise to everything (but it doesn't seem to work) Instead you could click the image layer which will select also the adj layers (if nested). Then right click on the image layer and select merge visible. Then when selecting that merged layer, export should work. Didn't test for print, but I suppose it will work too. Your best bet is to export to an image and print that for now... sorry. I'm actively updating the bug report whenever I see a discussion on this.
