Lem3 Posted March 23, 2019 Posted March 23, 2019 I use the Select Color Range tool in PS almost daily. The limitations in the AP Select Sampled Color tool makes it frustratingly useless in my applications. I would like these features added: Add or subtract from selection with additional clicks on the image. Additional options for viewing selection beyond marching ants, e.g., overlay, black on white, etc. Krustysimplex, jc4d, IPv6 and 3 others 6 Quote

AGJ Posted February 10, 2022 Posted February 10, 2022 Dang - I just started working with AP to see if I could switch from PS, but I have to have the ability to select more than one color with the Select Sampled Color tool. This one thing is necessary for my work! I am stuck with PS. Quote
Medical Officer Bones Posted November 3, 2022 Posted November 3, 2022 Screenshot from PhotoLine as comparison how to implement a good functional Select Sampled Color tool. With mask preview option to show marquee, coloured mask overlay just like Photoshop, and a really nice (optional) black-and-white mask preview. Perhaps in release 2? One can hope. Quote
rainwilds Posted November 25, 2022 Posted November 25, 2022 Came back here to check what the new version 2 has and to see if it has custom color(s) selection - still nothing. Shame, that and scripting keeping me with Adobe. Quote
Darner Posted March 21, 2023 Posted March 21, 2023 +1 here as well. It's a great feature in theory, sometimes it does the job, but often needs workarounds. Also experienced it shows a certain selected area, but also affects other parts of the image when subtracting selection, not previewed in marching ants. Sometimes also other kinds of selections. When isolating an element with selection and delete outside selection, if also affects inside selection slightly. This is mostly noticeable in more advanced selections other than "a black and red square testing". If you read this Affinity people, I also hope you can re-evaluate the "refine selection" tool for more accurate selections. Perhaps selections in general. And thank you Affinity for all the work you put in! Quote
Editx Posted July 22, 2024 Posted July 22, 2024 +1 here in 2024! I joined the jump from Photoshop to another platform, and I use select by specific color for literally everything. Its so frustrating to know the tool is out there...but not on the program I'd like to use. It takes so much more time just trying to select a block of color that would have been 10 seconds in Photoshop Dx Quote
