SlavaUX
SVG images get exported as SVG file, but they contain a bitmap instead of vector. Beta v1.7.0.209 exported vectors just fine. (tested with the same file) Export v1.7.0.209.svg Export v1.7.0.258.svg
walt.farrell
Having the .afdesign file would be helpful, too. adirusf 1 -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. iPad: iPad Pro M1, 12.9": iPadOS 17.4.1, Apple Pencil 2, Magic Keyboard Mac: 2023 M2 MacBook Air 15", 16GB memory, macOS Sonoma 14.4.
legin
Hi, Could this be due to having the svg Preset option set to SVG (flatten) ?
SlavaUX
@legin No that is not the case. SVG for Web preset reproducibly triggers flattening. With more testing I found that custom preset with Rasterize explicitly set to "Nothing" workarounds the issue, successfully exporting SVG as vector. Causes rasterizing: Doesn't cause rasterizing: Export issue.afdesign

dcarvalho84
Isn't this the same problem that we have in Mac version? Try to copy the file to a new document and make sure you don't have artboards and then export the file. Or click more and make sure you have rasterize nothing. That should do the trick for now. The .afdesign file (attached to my previous message) did not contain anything except a single vector curve with a solid color fill. So for this specific file Designer gives me the correct output with Rasterize:Nothing, but it will of course fail to do so when output partially contains bitmaps or effects that should be rasterized. GarryP
Check to see if you have set the Opacity of any layer - or the Artboard itself - to anything other than 100%. I found out a while ago that an Opacity of less than 100% can - under certain circumstances, at least - make Designer export as a raster. My original thread can be found here: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/63393-is-it-expected-designer-behaviour-to-get-a-raster-output-when-exporting-to-an-svg-with-an-opacity-of-less-than-100/

The program has problems with export. Not in the formats of the problem, but specifically in the export. Staff Sean P Posted March 13, 2019 Staff Share Posted March 13, 2019 Hi SlavaUX, As mentioned in the linked post above from Voidsea it is being caused by the Artboard - removing this will allow the objects to be exported correctly. This is currently being looked into by development! Thanks for letting us know!
