  1. I can confirm that I'm experiencing exactly the same issue with Nikon .NEF files when using the latest Beta. Windows 10 Pro (1809) 64bit. AMD FX-6300 Six Core. 16GB.
  2. Hi, For converting photos into digital 'art works' checkout FotoSketcher - total free even for commercial use. www.fotosketcher.com Cheers.
  3. I think I've just answered my own question - Ctrl+Click on the layer icon to make a selection from that layer!! Thanks again.
  4. Yep, you're right that is certainly a lot easier! Although this is where I show my lack of experience - How do I now save that extracted pencil sketch as a selection that can be re-coloured, etc.? Many thanks.
  5. I've been trying to find a method within Affinity Photo to extract hand drawn and scanned pencil sketches from their background. Something the same as this photoshop technique would be ideal https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KE9V3-K8SwI Any ideas and help would be very welcome.
  6. Having exactly the same problem - AP closes without warning. ( Windows 7, Affinity Photo 1.6.5.123 )
  7. Also crashes here. Designer beta 1.6.1.93 - Windows 7 64bit - AMD FX-6300 - AMD Radeon Graphics - 16GB ram.
  8. Still having the same problem also - Nikon jpeg RGB opening as sRGB.
  9. Hi, Thanks for your offer of help - it's not that I need the feature and as you say there are always other ways to do things, but I was curious if its absence was intentional or otherwise? I could'nt agree more regarding the power of the selections menu. (BTW The option is available in the Affinity Designer release) Cheers.
  10. SrPx, Many thanks for the reply, but you're right I do mean another thing. The attached image from one of the video tutorials should hopefully make it clearer.
  11. The option to select sampled colour appears to be absent from the Select menu drop down list, is this a bug or not yet implemented.
  12. Many thanks - looking forward to the first release version.
